Cost Slightly misleading sizes for pies. The "small" here is actually more of a "standard" size, and a true small would probably be the personal pie. That being said we were able to split a standard sized "small" pizza between two grown men for $20 and change without feeling hungry afterward, so that's not bad at all.
Food There are some interesting toppings here including shrimp and clam pizzas.
We got a supreme pizza and while it was filling I do have some knitpicks: The crust was a little soggy and could have been baked a little longer. I personally prefer more sauce than what I received (the sauce is the most important part in my opinion). Finally the pizza was very oily and greasy, but given that ours had pepperoni and sausage on it we should have expected this.
This was a first time visit though, so we didn't think we needed to fine tune our pie options.
Atmosphere There were some crumbs on the floor that I unwittingly mis-stepped onto, but other than that the environment seemed nice. It felt how a pizzeria and wine bar should feel for the most part.
Verdict This isn't the best pizza I have had but it is certainly not the worst (Di Carlos cough), and everyone has their own opinions about pizza so I would say to come in at lunch time and sample a personal pie before passing judgement.
I know I kind of want to come back sometime to try some of the less conventional options they have on...
Read moreVery basic dining area, not bad but nothing fancy. The menu prices seem reasonable, but you those prices might not be what you are actually charged. Ordered a beer off the menu, they didn't have it. Ordered a different beer off the menu, they didn't have it. Asked what they did have and ordered one of those. Ordered some kind of salad, it was OK but I want a huge fan of the dressing, it tasted and looked like there was a lot of dried garlic (maybe onion) in it that made it sorry of bitter. For pizza we got nothing really special, half pepperoni and half mushroom. When it can it was larger than expected but the taste was underwhelming. The crust tested more like bread than a pizza crust of the style they ate going for and I'm still trying to figure out what was going on with the cheese. The cheese was extremely chewy, it tasted like maybe a blend, but the main flavor I got was cheddar. I have no idea of they actually use cheddar, it would be strange if they did, but that's what it tasted like. It made the whole pizza taste very odd with a not great mouth feel. When we got the handwritten bill, some of the prices were higher than the menu prices. Overall it was only a couple of dollars higher than the menu but at that point I just wanted to pay and leave so I didn't bring it up. Overall, this is not a place I would...
Read moreSo I LOVE Harry's Pizza - been a customer for years and taste-wise it's one of the best around. However, this time, ordered a large with garlic, pepperoni & meatballs. It arrived with PRECISELY one meatball piece PER slice. Now, the question I should ask is "If I didn't get the pepperoni, would I still have gotten only one meatball piece per slice?" I mean, I paid the full price for a "premium topping" for those meatballs, but that seems a little off. If you pay for two toppings you should get the TOTAL amount of each of them, not some abbreviated portion of one or the other or both... Note there seemed to be a normal portion of pepperoni on it, but I've noted before Harry's being stingy with the topings. Add to this that DoorDash fleeces you on delivery now, and $40 for a large pizza with not all the toppings I should have received was a bit of a let down, regardless of...
