I had never been here before and didn’t know how it worked. Apparently seat yourself I found out after waiting then going to the restroom then being a bit more assertive to find out what to do. I sat myself and the girl who was to be my server took forever to get to me and the other table she had. She hardly spoke 2 words to me and I could tell she didn’t want anything to do with her job what so ever since she sat in the booth across from me the entire time! When I finally ordered I got water salad cheese sticks and a sub. Figured I better tell it all at once or I might not have an opportunity to again. When she brought the salad she set it all the way across the table on the corner as she was turning to walk back away. She brought out a bread basket and set it in the same place along with a side of golden hair from her head. The cheese sticks she had to set further on the table since the bread and now salad dishes were in her way across the table from me and when she brought the check she slid it on the table as she was walking past. Any time she was needed from the back they had to call out for her because she was setting in the booth the whole time like I said and any time someone talked to her she worked with she had a look of disgust. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome till the last minute of being there when Emma so kindly helped me get a box so I could take food home. My server was planted in her booth on her phone and couldn’t be bothered. Sierra T is what my check said my servers name was. I was very impressed at the food but that service from the jump was just terrible! She got NO tip from me! In a job where you make your money on customer service the last thing you want to do is be like that to the customer! I don’t know if I’ll return based on this experience. I’d recommend letting her go if that’s how she is. And she had 2 other tables as well. One with a disabled lady and a table with a young couple. She did not service any of the tables any different we all were given the bare minimum! I’m just very upset by how this experience was. Hopefully they can fix that situation so others don’t leave...
Read moreWe eat at The Grande pretty often, love the staff, love the atmosphere and LOVE the food!! I am a creature of habit and almost always get the same thing, the shrimp aglio and it's always excellent and I always compliment the staff on the food!, so that being said last night we decided to order take out. I of course got the same thing I always get. When I order I'm very specific because prices have grown up and I would like to get what I'm paying for. When the food was picked up and brought home it was so disappointing! The salad was a third the size that you get in the restaurant and salad is my favorite part of any meal so the disappointment started there, I had ordered the garlic breadsticks, after asking the person taking the order if it comes with the meal and she said it only comes if you eat in so I ordered it as a side. It was not in my order! Second disappointment! Then I opened my shrimp aglio, now this is a dish that I tell people in that restaurant all the time that this place does this dish absolutely perfectly. Last night, and I will preface this by saying that my friend said the restaurant was packed, okay no excuse for bad food however. My pasta was overcooked which it never ever is there was no flavor in it whatsoever! Aglio is nothing but olive oil and garlic and some crushed red pepper which was completely missing. There was a watery base beneath the pasta that seemed like a broth or something which is not the typical recipe. The shrimp were very overcooked! There's nothing worse than overcoat seafood. I know I will never get an explanation for this. I could be wrong but I am under the impression that the restaurant has new owners, if this is true then the one thing that I would advise is consistency is key in a restaurant. We will not stop going to the restaurant as it is currently my favorite.
It was only one meal, but very...
Read moreTerrible! I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but didn't even get a chance to eat. When we entered the restaurant it immediately reeked of cigarette smoke. Knowing what the answer should be, I asked the waitress if this restaurant allowed smoking since the odor was so strong. She of course said is was not allowed. After being shown to a table, the smell continued to be so strong that we left, as we were getting nauseated. Additionally, the waitress was quite rude when we left. I understand that there is a bar next door and perhaps the smoke was coming from there. That could have been suggested by the wait staff, rather than becoming impolite. If I were the owner of this restaurant I would want to know that I just lost the business of 5 people due to the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke - and the rude waitress...
