I am a new patient at Lakeside Primary Care and have been going to them for about two years. I am also a healthcare professional so I understand both sides of healthcare. In general the staff was professional but not overly friendly. I did have one experience that greatly concerned me as both a patient and a health care professional. I went in for a routine TB test for my job. When I came back 48 hours later to have the test read I walked in and wrote my name on the clip board. The front desk staff called me over to review my insurance and never greeted me or said hello before beginning to review my insurance information and address. When the front desk staff did this she simply asked if anything had changed not saying any of the information to identify that she had the correct patient or information. Then she charged me a copay which was unusual because I do not typically have a copay. The nurse called me back and asked for my weight and asked if I had any concerns I wanted to talk to the doctor about. If you have ever had a TB test read the nurse simply looks at your arm there is no doctor or weight involved. This was when I asked the nurse why she was asking me these questions because I am just here to have a TB test read. Turns out they mixed me up with another patient and charged me another patient’s copay. It is unacceptable that I was confused with another patient when our photos are associated with our charts. As a healthcare professional I understand the extreme importance of insuring you have the correct patent. If I didn’t say anything they wouldn’t have noticed that they had the wrong patient. This is deeply concerning because if they can’t even get the correct patient out of the waiting room or charge the correct person’s insurance how can I trust them with my health. I will be looking for a new primary care because I am not confident that my health...
Read moreI made an appointment for my annual checkup and physical. I also did some bloodwork. Upon entering the lady at the desk made a comment about my looks. I heard her but just chose to ignore it. I have a lot of patience running my own store so it’s whatever. She continued to say something so I finally just said thank you to end that. Had I made the same comment to a woman I would have been arrested and thrown in jail. The appointment was fine. Everything checked out good. I was frustrated I didn’t see my actual PCP because we go way back with my history. He understands my background. I did my bloodwork and when I got a message that everything was good, I asked if I could drop off a paper for the doctor to sign. My work company gives $250 for employees who do their annual exams. I was told yes no problem drop it off. I leave work and take the paper. All they have to do is sign it and stamp it. I did everything else. The same lady told me as I was walking in that they don’t do paperwork. She proceeded to tell me that 6 times. Eventually she says she is joking. I walk in hand the paper to her. She then proceeds to tell me it’s a $10 admin fee to this? Seriously? Okay whatever gets this over with. I guess you need paid $10 to do your job. I leave and go back to work. I get a call 20 minutes later from the same lady that they made a mistake and my fee was waived? We can refund it or credit your next visit. So which is it? I eventually hung up the phone because I was tired of listening to her. At this point you have been ignorant to me with your comments. Unprofessional. And now you have wasted my time and my money. So I drove back again to get a refund. No apologies or nothing. It seems the entire office got a laugh out of it. I kindly let her know I would never be back and will see a new PCP. I will never recommend anyone to go there again. Not that it really matters to...
Read morei try to get a very routine medication filled to keep me from being in extreme pain and i'm told i have to schedule an appointment. I make the appointment and show up on time, see the doctor, and then i'm told the medication will be called in in 30 minutes. Four hours later my pharmacy has heard absolutely nothing and neither me nor the pharmacy can contact the office. I leave a message and keep calling until they pick up, at this point it's five hours after my appointment. Finally I get through to someone and they tell me "Because the doctor didn't call it in, it's going to be another 45 minutes" If i wasn't so dependent on my medication I would have told them not to bother. Hopefully they give me enough to tide me over until I find a new PCP. Please avoid this practice at all costs. You will never be able to contact them via phone, and no matter how urgent your situation is you will be at the mercy of a forgetful front...
