I worked here for like barely even two months. I actually heard a lot of bad things about this place before I was hired but I was in need of a job that's closer to home, and worked with my schedule. I was pretty upset they start off at $7.25 especially with food being about $9 not even including drinks. I had made a mistake of thinking I was off on a Monday and Tuesday instead of Tuesday and Wednesday. I get a call saying I'm late for a shift, I apologized and explained to them I thought I was off. I got there clocked in and immediately asked what they needed help with. I got an attitude from my coworker and she proceeded to boss me around, and treat me horribly. I understood she was mad and I explained it was a simple mistake, then I got attitude from three other employees so when I said something back I had to be sent home. Which made no sense. I was told to come back and work Wednesday. I messaged one of my coworkers tuesday and apologized for my "attitude" to clear the tension. She had told me that my manager fired me. But there's no reason why, not only that but they didn't tell me nor they didn't call me to tell me so. I don't understand how I get punished and the other girls didn't get anything for how they talked to me and treated me. Which is highly disrespectful and unprofessional. I'm not pleased with this place whatsoever. And the only discounts they offer are employees and business partners they don't even offer military discounts for the men and women who serve. Disappointing as well. My friend applied and had an interview and she even said she heard bad things (not form me) and didn't even show up to her interview it wasn't worth it. Bad environment sticking...
Read moreSo far the only coffee place I have found in Petersburg besides Starbucks. It has the small town west coast coffee shop feel. The atmosphere is inviting and delightful, the kind of place you could write the last chapter to your novel while connected to their WIFI. The coffee isn't on par with the West coast, but for the East coast is probably the best you can find. Everyone who works here is always so kind and inviting. The prices are pretty decent and not too expensive, the selection of food is great. Breakfast burritos are available, and are an excellent choice for breakfast. The cookies in the bakery are the best, my favorite is their sugar cookies, I believe they are from down the street and not made in house. Next time you stp by make sure to pick one up, you will not be disappointed. Parking is available across the street in the gravel parking lot and I have never had a problem finding a parking spot. The place is always clean and every time I go in I don't see a huge mess on the tables. Although the floor plan is open I still feel a sense of privacy and not crowded up against other people.
The architecture of the place is a post-modern industrial chic type and it looks amazing on the inside. There is also some outdoor seating available in the summer and is a great place to relax and have a cup of...
Read moreWow - This coffee shop was a pleasant surprise and an excellent experience on our drive through Virginia! We made a spur of the moment decision to try it out when we saw the sign on 95. Food: They have a make-your-own sandwich option that was excellent. We ordered a plain bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel itself was large, the egg was fresh, and the bacon and cheese portions were generous. Definitely got our money's worth! They also had a crossaint option that looked fantastic. As for the coffee, we ordered a "Wrecking Ball." Espresso and chocolate sauce poured over vanilla ice cream and blended - perfect. 🙌🏼 Service: Service was fast considering there were more than 10 people in front of us and it was Sunday around brunch time. Ordering took 2-3 mins and waiting for our food took about 10 mins. It was very busy, but their three person team was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere: Rustic, modern vibe and cozy atmosphere. Patterned wood ceilings, glossy wood tables, uniquely patterned wallpaper, and dark concrete floors spruced up what looks to be an old (but freshly painted) peanut factory on the outside. Very cool. Side note: Parking was super convenient, and just...
