So , my friends and I decided to visit this establishment for the first time. I️ asked my waitress, Jessica, to get menus for drinks. When she came back, We were inquiring about happy hour drinks and how that works at this particular establishment. Then after an vague understanding my friends and I all ordered drinks. The first drink I️ ordered was a cool Malibu breeze and I️ was under the impression that the drink was supposed to taste like coconut, so I️ was excited. Turns out the drink just tasted like pineapple and grapefruit. I️ personally have never seen a pink coconut drink in my life, so the menu did not say everything that was in the drink. I asked my waitress if i could just get another drink because this was not what I expected. My second drink, Hawaii 5'0, was all their rums and juices. I️ admit that I️ took a chance by getting this drink but I️ thought it would be good. Then when I️ told my waitress instead of explaining anything to me she automatically just went to go get a manager. The manager told me that there is an ABC law stating that they cannot give out free drinks, so they did me a favor for giving me the second drink. I️ said ok that's fine and I️ was compensated by the manager with a desert and I️ was happy. I️ was not going to make a big fuss about it then and there. I️ will be making some phone calls about that law during the week. Then when we got our bill and we were confused as to why we were paying full price. Another waitress saw us waiting and was willing to take our checks so we can pay but when we asked y we were paying I'll price she said she will go get out waitress to figure that out. Then when we asked Jessica about why we were paying full price and she went to get another manager and she explained how happy hour works and why we had to pay full price. While my friends were being compensated with treats we heard Jessica in the back saying " so we are giving them free s**t now?!" And that's what true my cut it for me and Jessica was no longer getting a tip from me that night but her female manager from that night got a tip because she was understanding and nice. And that manager told us that THEY HAVE A HAPPY HOUR MENU BUT JESSICA DID NOT...
Read moreBad choice. As my husband and I were in the mood to try a new restaurant, we ventured down to Longstreet’s Deli in downtown Peterburg. So far, we had good luck in this area, but I guess our luck ran out at Longstreet’s Deli. This eatery is not worth the money. The upside was that the restaurant looked charming, but that is where the comfort stopped. The waitress, who was apparently the server and bartender, was quite sharp-tongued and not friendly. After a couple of minutes of entering the establishment, my husband and I were told to have a seat anywhere. After a couple of minutes, the waitress came over with two menus, which listed food items only. After five minutes, the waitress reappeared and asked for our drink choices. I asked for a drink menu, which she explained they were out due to the drink menus being updated and reprinted. At which point, my husband asked her about the selection of draft beers, to which she sarcastically replied, “We have too many for me to name them to you, you can look on the wall. I’ll come back.” So now we sat another five minutes drinkless waiting out the end of happy hour. So essentially, we didn’t get the happy hour price that ended at 7:00pm. Eventually, we got our tall beers and then began anxiously anticipating our meal only to receive barely lukewarm food.
At this point, I was steaming and just vowed to eat my poorly prepared meal and never come back. I have posted the pictures of the food to show. In one picture, you can see they only put enough cheese on the Sailor to cover one half of the sandwich. And as you can see from my husband’s plate, the pastrami sandwich was burnt, and the pastrami was rubbery. All I can say is save your hard-earned money, go to a place that has good service and...
Read moreI walked into Longstreet's to place a Togo order, and sat at the bar. The waitress took my order and left my receipt to pay. After about 20 minutes, she had not returned for me to pay the bill. By that time another customer had approached the bar to pay his tab because he couldn’t leave. A few minutes later; she returned with food for another customer. After she served the customers next to me, I requested to pay for my to go order. She responded to me very unprofessionally, claiming I was “lucky” she even allowed me to place a to go order in the first place. I declined to give my business to this restaurant and left without my food. It was obvious that the waitress was poorly prioritizing her volume of work as evidenced by the events during my 20 minute wait, and she decided to take her frustrations out on her customers. Additionally, when I first arrived at the restaurant - the waitress in question revealed to me that she had left a phone calling customer on hold for a very long time. She (falsely) assumed that i was the phone customer, and had come to the restaurant to order my food in person because of the extremely long wait. In my short time in the restaurant I was witness to at least 3 dissatisfied customers. By employing a waitress is such low quality, it seems apparent to me that this organization lacks the professionalism required to successfully run a business. These events took place between 11am - 11:20am on October 8, 2023. The waitress is a white woman, likely in her 40s with extremely long finger nails. I hope that any readers of this restaurant review seriously consider alternative food options before supporting the behaviors I witnessed at...
