Old Towne's Alibi — Restaurant in Petersburg

5/5 in ALL categorizes EVERY visit!! One particular visit always stands among the rest.. long review but I promise it’s completely worth the read. This particular visit the truly went above & beyond, far more than I would ever expect out of any establishment! I called in a take out order on as soon they opened for a take out order. I picked up the order 15 mins later & headed to my Mom’s house to spend my lunch break. When we we’re unpacking the food I realized we were missing both our desserts. I wasn’t upset (totally get stuff happens, we’re human) just a little disappointed bc it’s always so delicious! I called Alibi right away assuming they would just refund my card. Kat apologized over & over again even after I insisted I understood. She ASKED me if I prepared a refund or if I wanted to swing back by for the dessert. I laughed & said I’d much rather have the dessert but wasn’t sure I would have time needing to be back to work in 40 mins.. I let her know I was going to eat my lunch quickly & swing by on my way back to the office. Kat asked what my favorite appetizer was bc she wanted to make up for the inconvenience even after I insisted it wasn’t necessary she was determined so I told her we loved everything we’d had from there & weren’t picky! After I hung up I decided I was close enough to run back before eating so my Mom could enjoy the dessert as well. I had just gotten into my car to head back & Kat called back asking how far away my Mom’s was bc she was going to send someone to deliver our dessert & surprise appetizer! Keep in mind they do NOT even offer delivery service but she was genuinely going over the top to make up for a simple error to a customer that was not in the least bit upset. It really blew my mind! Ultimately, I let her know I was already on my way but I appreciated the jester. In the end we enjoyed our desserts & the massive order of fried pickles they threw in for us! I had not tried the fried pickles but let me tell you they are the most perfect fried pickles of all time. From the seasoned breading to the perfectly crisp pickle to the house made ranch. They are a must have every visit now! The order was so massive I we didn’t put a dent in the pickles, I took the rest to work & made everyone on my team try them too. The way Alibi chose to handle forgot dessert truly sets them apart from any other place (& it has nothing to do with the free pickles although much appreciated) It still blows my mind an establishment would go to the extent of hand delivering dessert (again.. they don’t even offer delivery) shows just how much they genuinely care about customer satisfaction! Whether I am dining in, picking up takeout, or just running in to buy a container of pimento cheese you’re greeted by a warm & exciting embrace like you’re walking in to an old friends home for a visit. They have certainly earned their 5/5 review! I should of left it before now bc every visit has ALWAYS been a 5/5 experience.

I went with a friend for lunch during the week. We got there at 11 so they were just starting to get busy. I ordered the pulled pork loaded waffle fries and they were very good! The portion was large but there are considered an appetizer. Perfect for sharing! They sounded so good I had to get them! Next time, I will try the Philly cheese steak sandwich...Yum! My friend got the regular burger with pasta salad and really liked it as well. She ate everything on her plate so you know it had to be good. Since it was early in the day we did not order drinks but, man they liked really good! They have a regular menu for every day but they also give you a menu with a selection of weekly specials to peruse. This is where I found my loaded fries. I really like this option because it is impossible to get tired of the menu since there is always something new! This means you could go everyday and never get bored! The owner, Kat, was super friendly along with her staff. If your looking for a cozy place for one person or a group they can accommodate you at Alibi's. Give them a try, I think you will like it! We made a reservation for brunch to celebrate my upcoming birthday and let me tell you, it was the best experience!! We’ve gone to Alibi many times for the nighttime bar festivities but I’ve always wanted to go for brunch to try their cereal French toast and mimosas! When we got there we were greeted by staff and seated immediately. Two of our guests were running a little behind but nothing too crazy. Once our final person made it (probably 20 minutes into our reservation), a waitress came up and apologized that nobody had come to serve us yet and that she would be glad to take care of us. We placed our drink orders and the next thing you know, our drinks our being served to us by our waitress and the owner Kat. Kat was so sweet and kept apologizing for the delay and thanked us for our patience by comping our drinks for us. Not only was that awesome of her but she was SO sweet coming to us personally to apologize! The Caribbean mimosa was out of this world and the food was AMAZING!! I’m a waffle girly myself but I ordered the famous fruity pebble French toast and let me just say…. I inhaled it.
