Food is what you expect when you visit BK anywhere. Sometimes hot & fresh and sometimes the opposite. This store (and I believe all Northwind Investments stores in Northern Michigan North of Traverse City) will not participate in nationally advertised promotions. (The Traverse City stores and vast majority do). But these stores will not participate in the new $5.00 monthly coffee subscription, they do not honor the $6.00 Whopper, Angry Whopper, etc value box. Probably others as well.
My experience was trying to order the nationally advertised $6.00 Angry Whopper Box deal. The first cashier was very friendly and was polite saying it was over $7.00 at this location. I mentioned the ad but to no avail. So I went inside to show the manager on duty the ad and this MOD was very rude and had a strong attitude. She wouldn't even agree to see the ad saying "THIS LOCATION DOESN'T PARTICIPATE". I figured I would at least show her the ad so she didn't call me a lair and she stated I am not calling you a liar but I don't care what the ad says.
I understand participating locations only but up to recently they have always went along with the ads. They are in print, on radio, and TV both locally & nationally. But more so the very unprofessional service from the MOD was the main problem.
Since I refused to pay over $1.00 extra and the food was already made they just threw it out. Seems they could have said OK this time we will honor it but in the future.....but no. So you can start to see why one of the two Petoskey locations have already closed for good.
If you want sometimes average food at sometimes regular prices and sometimes rude service BK is the place to visit. Otherwise one of the many other fast food places may be a...
Read moreUnfortunately we were on bikes! We are staying a few nights at Magnus Park in Petoskey (an awesome beautiful campground!!). The park is connected to bike trails that literally go EVERYWHERE!! I understand masks, social distancing, and extra caution. What I don’t understand is riding bikes to the Burger King, behind the campground, going through the drive through, placing our order, putting on my mask, pulling up to the first window to pay... and then being told we can’t be served. We were told to go around the building, and call the number for oversized vehicles, and reorder, so they could bring it out to us! The lady in the car ahead of us WASN’T wearing a mask, I was. She was served. I was as far away from the window as she was. There wasn’t any signage that said NO BIKES in the drive through!! In fact there weren’t any signs anywhere stating NO BIKES in the drive, at all. And I pointed that out to the young man at the window. He was very polite and apologetic. I never raised my voice and neither did he. I just fail to see how it’s safer to open a door (completely exposing themselves) and hand me my food than to hand it through the small window I was waiting at. And they wouldn’t even finish the transaction and meet me at the door. They literally wanted me to ride around the building and start over, this time, using the phone. I’m disappointed. I had such a taste for a whopper...I left considering to never go back to ANY Burger King ever again! I’m so frustrated. After talking this over to others at the campground, no one could give a good answer. Some had stories of the their whole family walking through drive throughs. Too bad. You really dropped the ball...
Read moreOn Thursday evening, July 5th, my family went through the drive thru, placed our order, kids were laughing in the back seat. This apparently annoyed Ryan because when we drove up to the window to pay, his words to us were, "I'm going to need you to hurry up we have things to do back here." I responded that this was not appropriate customer service to which he repeated, "I need you to pay now we are busy." This was said when we were the only car in line. I am not sure what time they closed, but if it was close to closing they shouldn't have taken our order. My wife was so disgusted by Ryan's comments in front of our children we handed the money to him and left to go to another establishment. Following this, my wife and I talked to our children about how unacceptable this type of service is. It is unacceptable to ever treat a customer in such a way and then actually take our money and watch us drive away without so much of an apology, a I'll take care of the order, it was really a rotten attitude Ryan displayed in front of myself and my family and I will be following up with ownership citing what is mentioned above, the fact I explained to my children we paid $20 for the trouble the other workers went to to take the order and that no one should have to deal with service like...
