Update 10/25/2024: We are on a roll! The block has been consistently clean and free of customer throwaways at the curb throughout the month! Thanks guys!

Update 9/25/2024: September comes to a close and the block continues to look pretty good! Thanks ASADS TEAM for helping keep the block a clean, enjoyable place to do business... and live!

Update 8/22/2024: Another SUMMER MONTH of a reasonably clean block that Asads Hot Chicken and it neighbors must share. The Students at the surrounding University return for the fall semester soon. I hope the clean block free of Asads bags, chicken carcases, and french fries dumped at the curb and on the sidewalk that's been achieved through the summer break can continue. Summer brought a welcome reprieve for Asads neighbors after a rough start of business. Hope the momentum continues into the Fall!

Update 7/17/2024: It is the height of summer and our block is reasonably clean. It has been pretty free of Asads Chicken Bags and foam containers of half eaten chicken and fries littering the block daily for the first time in months...I'm ever hopeful! 🤣

Update 06/18/2024 7:45 p.m.: ASADS RESTAURANTS DO NOT MAKE GOOD NEIGHBORS! Thought with summer here and usual masses of people gone that the trash problem created by this establishment might abate. I've also been encoraged by a few feeble attempts at sending people out to sweep and pick up discarded Asads bags like the new one from today i just posted. Looks like we may need to ratchet up the campaign since the manager on duty at the time of this posting just shrugged his shoulders at me. Owner note time and date above for manager concerned. Photo taken on sidewalk just outside our mutually shared block.

Update 5/11/2024: here we are 3 1/2 months open and Asads customers continue to use our block as a garbage bin at the curb. Images posted from today above in the photo collection. Asads can't seem to spare a person to scope the curb so often. Too busy making profits at the expense of the neighbors. RATS and GARBAGE continue to multiply outside this storefront.

Update 04/09/2024 ASADS management. Do us all a favor and send some one out to tend to the garbage from your restaurant your customers leave along our block through the day every so often through business hours if you would be so kind! The chicken carcasses, french fries and ASADS bags are once again starting to be STREWN up and down our mutually shared block. Doesn't look good for you if our block is a garbage dump for your business . ...

Update 03/10/2024: After a rocky start, things have fortunately returned to relative calm on the block for those of us who live here. The sidewalks remain clean and free of chicken carcasses, foam containers and French fries for days upon days ...

Update: 02/17/2024: Most of the mess has been removed from the sidewalk from last Friday opening. Finally! Now if you can remove your "bouncer types" packing guns on display at their hip and your "velvet rope".... Chicken just isn't ALL that!

Update: 02/12/2024: Thanks for cleaning up your side of the block Asads! Its been 3 DAYS SINCE YOUR OPENING! Now maybe you can now remove all the CUSTOMERS CHICKEN CONTAINERS STREWN ON THE CURB ACROSS THE STREET FROM YOUR STORE FROM OPENING DAY! Those of us who live here have to look at these as they disintegrate every morning! Photos posted!

02/09/2024: The neighbors of South 40th Street want to congratulate Asads on their opening day! Looks like it was extremely successful! Please clean the mess your customers left behind on the sidewalk for us to have to look at when we step out our front door after their near riot! Must be good...

If you have never eaten here before you need to at least eat here once! The chicken here is amazing! The next time I come out to Philadelphia, I will be stopping here again. I had the loaded fries meal. It is large combination of french fries, cheese, chopped fried chicken and some kind of spicy boom boom sauce. It comes with two round pickle slices. You can get 2 to 4 meals out of it, depending on how you eat. You can get one and share it with someone and probably still have leftover. The chicken is tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The fries are very good. The cheese sauce is good and the sauce that they put on the top is my favorite part. I have a very sensitive palate and digestive system. I usually don’t get anything with spice at all so I was very hesitant to try this, but I’m very glad I did. I got the no heat option and there’s still was a little bit of a mild spice. I also went back with my son and got a chicken sandwich and that was amazing as well. I highly recommend it. I hear a lot about the banana pudding, but I haven’t tried it yet. My son got a Oreo milkshake and said it was pretty good. Overall, very filling to say the least. The only thing that I could possibly complain about is that it was very small. There was no place to sit down. It’s a takeout place. The order was done fairly fast and was properly put together neatly. The place was overall clean and the staff was very friendly. The price was decent as well being about $13 for the entire meal and like I said you can get probably two meals or more out of it so for me it was worth...

Can’t rate what I did not receive. I ordered curbside, the app asked me my car details and everything, I even tipped for curbside. Get to the store and the parking is horrible but that’s okay because I ordered curbside, somebody should bring it out, WRONG! I called the phone number provided by the app and the phone number on Google and nobody answer, what type of business doesn’t answer phones? You can get the bodega to answer the phone. I had to park then go to the security who said ā€œcurbside to the leftā€ Pardon Me? Curbside isn’t a service that you should have to come inside to pick up. Anyway, I get inside, not only is the lights flickering but nobody is helping the people on the left, I drove all the way from a different county for this and have my car sitting out there waiting for help. So I wait a good amount of time before I had to leave. Guess what? They don’t answer any of the phones at any of the locations. I would naturally leave photos but hey, no food, no photos. Thanks for taking my money and...

Went to check what they hype was about, and I was surprised to see how much it was just hype over the food. Ordered the tenders and fries, which wasn't what I expected. The tenders had a lot of seasoning, but the chicken was dry. Ordered the hot spice level, which it wasn't. The tenders sat on top of two pieces of bread that were dry and just had the bit of the dry spices left over from the chicken on it. The fries were underwhelming, which were you guessed it, dry with some of the same seasoning found on the chicken. The sauce on the side seemed to be like a thousand island dressing , which was necessary to offer relief from the overall dry taste of the meal. The pickles were the only items that weren't dry. For almost $13 for chicken tenders and fries, I'd rather go somewhere else for chicken and avoid the upset stomach feeling. The Colonel and Popeyes have nothing to worry about regarding competition from this place.

The food at this location was not good in any way. I believe the store rating is so high because they are promoting if you give them a 5 star rating they will give you a free soda or bottler water. This is even before you actually get your food. I wanted to wait til I actually got my food before giving a false 5 star rating. As you can see in the pictures the chicken was hard, dry and even burnt looking on the ends. It also tasted burnt. The chicken was not juicy at all. The sliders had zero flavor. I spent about $52 dollars on 4 meals to have nasty food. Asad’s was a place my family and I had been dying to go too. Once they moved closer we decided to go. The food on their instagram does not look how it looks online. It’s upsetting because we really wanted to have a great experience. This food was not worth the hype. Maybe the other locations are better but this one was nasty.
