The location is great, in the city center, rooms are nice with good furniture, everything is quite clean. The VERY BIG DISAPOINTMENT are employees! We had contact with three different employees, and all of them were really very lazy. They didn’t want to do anything, they said “OK” to everything, and then nothing was done, or it took them a very, very long time to do anything. A shame for the hotel. We stayed there for four nights, and our room was not cleaned even once. At check-in, we were told that the room would not be cleaned unless we requested it, so we told them right then that it was perfectly fine if they just changed our towels and emptied the trash after two days, and that there was no need to change the bed linen since we could use it for all four days. On the morning of the second day, I reminded them about cleaning the room, and they said “OK.” When we came back to the hotel in the evening, the room had not been cleaned, all the trash bins were full, and our dirty towels were still on the bathroom floor. I went to the reception, where they said, “Oh, sorry, we will clean it tomorrow.” Since we had no towels, I asked them to at least give me fresh ones, but even that was a big problem. The receptionist first searched in various rooms but couldn’t find any towels, then spent about 10 minutes flipping through a phone book, and finally called a colleague, who told her that the towels were in the basement. After waiting at the reception for about 20–25 minutes (around 11 p.m.), I finally got fresh towels. The room was not cleaned the next day either. The breakfast they offer is a DISASTER. The selection is very poor (only sweet items), and even those few things run out quickly because they prepare only a small amount. They offer plastic cutlery and plastic cups, and with a thin plastic knife it is almost impossible to spread butter from the fridge. The juice machine offered apple and orange juice, but only the apple juice worked. When I told the receptionist there was no orange juice, she said, “Yes, I know.” There was still no orange juice for the next two days, and on the fourth day, the apple juice ran out as well, but they only refilled the orange juice. On the first day, waffle batter was available, but on the second day, the machine broke down. On the third day, we came to breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and there was only one slice of toast left. I went to the reception and asked the receptionist to bring food as soon as possible so we could have breakfast, since we were in a hurry to go on a trip to Washington. After about 15 minutes, she came into the dining area and placed three croissants, three muffins, and four slices of toast on the tray, even though there were 12 people waiting in the dining room.Whenever we asked at the reception for advice about sightseeing, renting a car for a trip outside the city, or buying public transport tickets, the answer was always, “I don’t know, check in the city.” In short, the staff is extremely lazy and unfriendly, which makes your stay at this hotel much...
Read moreMy husband and I are both seniors and disabled veterans. Previously 2 years ago we stayed at this hotel and were very satisfied. This visit however was a disaster and with previous bad experiences at other Choice property this has made us hesitant about using Choice properties in the future. I must start off by paying compliments to the young lady that was literally on duty every time we had to communicate with the lobby and each time day or night we went through the lobby. She was obviously tired since she worked extra shifts due to staff issues but was calm, professional helpful and pleasant 1. We requested not to be above the 3rd floor but the tv in the room on the 3rd floor was broke. We went to 6th floor room. That tv was broke so we were moved to 5th floor. 2. No food/breakfast. 3. HOMELESS PEOPLE ARE LIVING IN THE HOTEL AND HANGING OUT IN THE LOBBY AND HALLS. 4. Parking accommodations were tedious. Several others businesses and general public all used this small parking lot - which by the way was $25/day. 5.In the lobby plastic bags full of something were being stored. (Got pictures) 6.Smoke could be smelled in rooms that were designated as non-smoking. 7. The furniture in the lobby and in the rooms was old, very used, smelly and worn. When my mother -89 years old-sat in one of the chairs we had to help her out because the cushion had no cushion and she just sunk way down in the chair. 8. When I asked for a manager he/she never came or called. Was told that the manager never answer any of the calls that was put to them. 9. The board on the wall where the tv was mounted was coming down. (Got pictures). I don't care what a person does or does not do with their business but I do care when you do not disclose your conditions to patrons like me. On the Choice or Sleep Inn website I don't expect them to say how worn down the hotel is but I do expect them to state the homeless are living there with vouchers from the city or other organizations. I called and registered my complaint but to date have not heard from anyone. Giving me 3000 points is not the solution. Transparency in advertising is appreciated. If management desires to do competent customer service for a Choice member I can...
Read moreWe stayed 6 nites at this Chinatown location, owned by the Choice Hotels. The day after we arrived, we discovered that there was no housekeeping, unless requested. (There was nothing posted at the desk or in the room). We asked that housekeeping come the next morning. Next Day, after a day of touring, we came back to find that the room had not been cleaned. We asked at the desk again and were informed that you have to ask the morning before, for this service. Third day came and nothing. This time we complained, so Monday they just came in to give us clean towels and pick up the dirty ones, which we piled on the floor. No cleaning was done at all.On Monday night, we were disgusted with the lack of attention they give their guests. Tuesday morning, our last day there, we made one final attempt and really got angry with the desk clerk. When we got back Tuesday night, the room hadn't been touched. The communication between the desk and housekeeping was awful! The desk clerks just didn't care.|The other problems we noticed were stained sheets, room phone that didn't work, and a toilet that flushed so strongly that it splashed the water into your face and on the floor when you used it. After that, we made sure to close the lid before flushing. The room had a terrible view, as you can see in my photo. Also, every time we left the building there were smells of garbage and fish that filled the air because an open air market was two doors down.|The location is the only positive thing I can mention. It was a 10 minute walk to all the historical sites. Reading Market Terminal, an indoor food court/market, was a 5 minute walk. There was a hop-on-hop-off bus-stop, that stopped at all the major sites , just a block away. We took the Amtrak train from the airport to Jefferson Station which was right across the street from Reading Market, which saved us money...
