I’m not one to leave reviews but I’ve had multiple bad experiences at Yamitsuki. This time unfortunately was the last straw. I sat with friends and a server came over, didn’t introduce herself and was rude when we asked questions about the menu. We originally ordered a signature roll each and a drink. Our server returned two minutes later to tell us it was happy hour so we asked to redo our order completely and ordered the happy hour rolls instead. Instead of changing our order she added the happy hour order on top of the original order. We figured it was a misunderstanding and decided to accept the extra rolls and pay for them.. After our initial order the server doesn’t come back to check on us until we ask for the bill. As I walk away to use the restroom, before counting the money, my server is talking to a coworker and pointing at the bill. The cash is still folded up so I know she’s talking to her about the validity of our payment. What comes next occurs EVERY time I visit Yamitsuki. Our server brings us the bill, we pay and leave 10% instead of 15 due to our lack of hospitality and noticing the assumption of not leaving a tip at all. She brings us back the tip money and circles the tip suggestion at the bottom of the check. Again, this happens to me and my friends every time we visit and at this point it’s giving racial undertones and honestly is the last straw with this place. My friend leaves a smaller tip for the micro aggression and our server follows us to the door and questions the smaller tip. Then my friend says “if you don’t want this i’ll take it back” and we start to walk out, she follows and raises her voice to say “YOU DONT LEAVE US A TIP??” loudly enough that guests are turning around to look. I speak up and tell her that pestering us for $4 more on a tip is bad service and made us uncomfortable on multiple occasions. I’m getting upset and my boyfriend ushers me out the door and then our server FOLLOWS US OUTSIDE. I yelled at her about following us outside from a few steps away from the restaurant but we ended up leaving shortly after. I used to love this place, but I absolutely would not reccommend this place to anyone, especially if...
Read moreExperience was not the best. Ordered our meal(app, main course, dessert) and a bottle of wine , was handed the bill not even 20 min after we received out meal and apps. Advised the waiter why are we being presented with the bill without even finishing our meal and receiving our dessert. Then we paid the bill early and because we weren't done eating and receiving our service we did not tip. The waiter (Tracy) ran up to us and said the tips not included and is REQUIRED. My friend advised we have no problem tipping but where does it state that we MUST tip, she then goes on to say that it is not required but they don't get paid salary (as if we did not know). Then stood by us while we were finishing our meal NOT to take the plates away but to make sure we gave her a tip, how you may ask that i knew this is because when we got up to leave she ran after my friend saying "No tip". My friend then advises the waiter that this is harassment and that he had advised me to not tip until we leave the establishment and that he would like to speak to the manager .The waiter stated I don't think she is going to tip and stated to my friend the manager was not there and that she no longer wanted the tip and refused to provide the managers name. Move forward 5 mins, I sent the tip when we left and advised that i would like the manager to contact me and provided my number but she returned the tip and said have a nice day (refusing to allow me to speak with the manager). We call the next morning to speak with the manager and was told first he wasn't there then the phone was handed to another person and we were asked our names and "what do we want" and then my friend advised of his name and wanting to speak to the manager and the women stated no you can not and you can't have the managers name and hung up on my friend! Extremely rude and I inform everyone that i speak with not to do business here. That was not great business, I have reported to the BBB since it seems to be an issue with getting in contact with the manager. Looking forward to the follow up hopefully from the manger in a...

Ok Ramen, if you're starving and are craving Ramen, and there's no other Ramen restaurants nearby. Not quite a Ramen restaurant, more so a Bar with options to eat Ramen.
Restaurant: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Food: 2/5 Parking: Street meter parking
Restaurant: We came here after a visit to the aquarium, and since other Restaurant was closed between lunch and dinner we decided to give this place a try. The review seemed ok and the website description stated "authentic Japanese flavor" right in their About Us page. The Restaurant has a very bar/karaoke vibe to it. Didn't deter us from visiting as long as the food is good... unfortunately the food didn't meet our expectations.
Service: Nothing extraordinary, at the time we visited. There was a lot of staffs on lunch it seemed. They were able to provide just enough service.
Food: To claim that they are "authentic Japanese flavor" ...not quite, far from it.
We ordered 2 Ramen and both with Chicken: Yamitsuki Ramen (I was thinking with the Restaurant name on it, it must be their specialty and has to be good. I was very VERY wrong, the broth was oily, almost a room temperature and very bland, no flavor. The Chicken was pre-boiled or broil, and was very dry, not to mention they were barely size of my thumb (2 pieces total) Miso Ramen (Pretty good, unfortunately came with same precooked dried chicken. At least the broth was Ok.
In conclusion: I would not visit again, we went in hungry and left disappointed. I think we will stick to our regular spot from now on, in the same area. Or...
