We tried this place out for the first time today. Both my husband and I had the grilled shrimp burrito. It was very huge and filling! Overall, it was a good experience. The people working there were very friendly, and the menu has a lot of options for kids, and students, which you rarely see. A few minor cons were the gentleman making my burrito left it half constructed to grill the shrimp, and it sat awhile before it was completed So it wasn’t overly hot when I got to eat it. It was crowded and they were doing the best they could...but they are in need of at least one more person behind the counter. Also, it was my first time and I just assumed it was just like Chipotle so when it came to what I wanted in it, the offerings weren’t completely clear to me as some of the bins looked empty or close to it. I would have preferred a spicer salsa on my burrito instead of the pico de gallo that was offered, and no sauce or sour cream was offered and I didn’t realize until after I sat down. I probably should have said something. Regardless, it was good and I just added some hot sauce on it from the bottles they have near the self serve soda machine. Speaking of soda machine...this isn’t a con but it’s a public service for those who prefer Coke over Pepsi. They do have Pepsi products only, FYI. We definitely want to come back now that we got a good look at the menu, etc. I can’t wait to try the chicken quesadilla....the chicken that they were cooking...
Read moreDefinitely not coming to eat here ever again after 4 years of being a customer got to the restaurant at 8:10PM got ignored by the crew for more than 5 minutes lady on the register on the phone when we got to the restaurant didn’t acknowledge us when we walked into the restaurant after ignoring us start putting away the sauces my fiancé had to ask her if we can order or if she was putting away and closing she didn’t even answer us and the guy that was cleaning came and ask us what did we want to order it was like they were closing in the next 2 minutes I’m not the customer that comes 10 minutes before closing I got there 50 minutes before closing ordered nachos with the intention of eating there cause once you take them to go they get saggy really fast when he give me my food at 8:30 he ask me is to go right and I said no I’m eating here that’s why I asked you at what time you close and you said 9PM he said no we close at 8:45 I proceeded to tell him if you had said that I will not order and then he changed and said it’s ok I will open for you if you are not finished by 8:45 really? If you close at 9pm you close at 9pm and you don’t treat customers like that I’ve worked on multiple restaurants and if we close at 9pm is 9pm to the public and then we clean and are gone by 9:30-10pm it’s sad I was so exited about my diner and eating mad...
Read moreThis restaurant is one of your typical run-of-the-mill pop-up food places you see nowadays with its funky color scheme, pumping music, and their own app. Now This review isn't meant to sound snarky, but when I visit a new restaurant I try see what makes it worth it. Unfortunately with Bubbakoo's, it's not worth it and allow me to express my opinion.
Their menu options are pretty simple, which is a good business strategy because it allows them to try to be more qualitative and focus on what they want to be known for: It's clear Bubbakoo's wants to be known for burritos. Their burritos will run you almost $10 with tax included, and you can customize them whichever way you like with different types of rice, meats, veggies, toppings, and sauce. However, when I pay $10 for a burrito, I am going to expect that this burrito will be the best one of my life because regardless of size, taste is everything. Although their burrito is a "hefty" size, unfortunately, the taste is pretty bland. It's not a bad taste, but it does not justify the cost.
In summary, don't expect the greatest burrito you've ever had. You're going to pay a lot of money for something you could easily make several portions for yourself and your family/friends at a fraction of the cost. If their burritos were $6, then I could see the...
