Theyâre def. in the wrong neighborhood! Either this place changes or they wonât be around long. They used to be closer to Temple U but catered to the more poor neighborhood community over there. Imitation seafood, fast food level fried food etc. But they literally moved to a completely different demographic. Think catering to a Dollar General crowd and then switching to a WholeFoods crowd. The new neighborhood they moved to is a mix of affluent upperclass and then mix of reformed hipsters. So when I saw them open up across the street from my apt. I was super excited! I thoughtâŚ.a gourmet fresh seafood spot like Lukeâs Lobster or even Anastasiâs in S. Philly. I was crushed!! This seafood is no better than the stuff they sell on the side at your local pizza shop. I hope and pray that ownership figures out where they are and understand this community can afford to pay more than $14 for a shrimp platter. Not that anyone would want to but it is literally impossible to sell high quality seafood for a bargain. But, they could literally sell super fresh fish to compete with WholeFoods down the street, sushi grade fish, caviar, oysters and other ocean delicacies to take out and then prep high quality seafood dishes as well. Philly needs more high quality Seafood spots and Fairmount...
Read moreWent today and got a seafood platter that came with 2 Dungeness crab clusters, about 6 or 7 big shrimp, 2 corn on the cobs and some broccoli. It was 25$. I usually go to this other place that is my âgo toâ but I figured I would try Cameronâs. The crabs and shrimp were extremely salty, I mean to the point that they were not edible so that was disappointing. I love my food seasoned to the Godâs but it was wayyyy too salty, I even tried to water them down thinking maybe it was the garlic butter mixture at the bottom but the salty-ness was boiled in the food. Luckily the corn on the cob and broccoli was in a separate platter so they were not salty and I was able to enjoy those, they were good. My âgo toâ spot gives you a aluminum tray with all of this stuff including potatoes for almost the same price as Cameronâs and more than double the amount of shrimp so it wasnât nothing special . Overall the food would have been good if it wasnât for the heavy hand on the salty seasoning but over priced for the quantity. If the quality of the food was good then the price would have been fine but being as though I know what I could get from my âgo toâ for that price I think it was over priced if that makes sense. I would give them one more try maybe it was a off day. I hope...
Read moreI went there today to place a order I haven't been there on years. The lady with the short brown and blonde highlights I have to say was the rudeness customer service I ever had there. I walked no one was there I'm standing at the cash register waiting for her to get done what she was doing as she looked at me and continued fuming around. In walks some she knows as she started having a whole conversation with person ok there order and rung them out. Never acknowledging that I was waiting there first. So I picked up the menu and said cand I have the Dungeness platter she says that menu is before covid and showed me the board with the new prices. I said ok can I have the platter while I'm about to ask for my side and more food she walks off. Then the phone rang she answered it started to write down thier order. I thought that was completely unprofessional and just ridiculous service. I ended leaving and getting back into my car. I will never stop at that place...
