As soon as i walked in they told me it would be a 45 minute wait yet I overheard them telling others it would be a 10 minute wait. Then the host/waiter asked me what I wanted and didn’t even give me a menu.
I saw one of the waiters running around and asked her if they had any mock-tails or 0% Beers or Wine and she said no and told me they had soda and to check over at the wall…and walked away…She never said anything else to me.
I watched the initial host greet, sit, offer drinks, have casual conversation, and deliver food to multiple people and not once did he acknowledge me until the pizza was almost ready and even then no one offered me a glass of water. Many people came in after me and got their pizzas and food before me after I watched the host/waiter take their order. Later on, he did apologize for the quality and lack of service. I explained to him that I’ve ordered from them on Door Dash and loved the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza and wanted to simply experience it fresh out of the oven.
The experience was pretty disheartening but I’ll accept the fact that maybe everyone was flustered and potentially understaffed…so I appreciate the apology but still needed to be transparent on my experience. When I walked in there were many open seats inside and outside, so I’m not really sure why they told me before I even got a menu that it would be a 45 minute wait, especially when others came in after me and got their stuff before me.
Outside of the bad service, the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza that I ordered was AMAZING and hands down the best rendition of a Pepperoni Pizza I’ve had in West Philly…Safe to say, if I ever eat from there again it’ll be ordered on a delivery app rather...
Read moreI will never be returning to Clarkville. As a resident of the neighborhood, this disappoints me, but that disappointment pales in comparison to the disappointment Clarkville served me.
My group of 7 went on what was a quiet Friday night at the restaurant. When we went to order our drinks, one member of our party did not have her ID, and we were informed that none of us could drink. Please note that we were not trying to get wasted; we just wanted to have a beer with our pizza because that's what most normal mid/late 20s people do. Our waitress informed us, however, that she could not "babysit" the one member of our party who did not have her ID (and was not planning on ordering a drink anyway).
Following this episode, a member of our party ordered a soda, which she drank, and then asked for a refill. She was thus informed that a refill of her soda would cost $2.50. This was not some special soda imported from a Central Asian Republic. She got a Coke that came from the soda gun behind the bar. I cannot recall any other restaurant I have been to that charged me or anyone I was with for a refill of a Coke. I was insulted by this practice.
It was hard to have any other negative interactions with the waitstaff because we were largely ignored (and we were perfectly polite despite our rising irritation).
As far as the food goes, it's passable. More importantly, it certainly isn't as good as the employees think it is. An appetizer we ordered was described as "special," but I can't even remember what the dish was, illustrating just how forgettable it was. Getting our check at the end and being reminded how expensive the place is was a final kick...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited Clarkville Pizza Place for what we hoped would be a pleasant evening of dining out. However, our experience left much to be desired, primarily due to the unprofessional behavior of a staff member named Brett.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with indifference by the staff, setting the tone for the rest of our visit. As we were seated, Brett approached our table and immediately made a rude comment directed at my wife, displaying a complete lack of respect and courtesy. His behavior was not only uncalled for but also completely unacceptable in any establishment, let alone a supposedly family-friendly pizza place.
Despite our attempts to overlook Brett's behavior and enjoy our meal, the overall experience was tainted by the unpleasant encounter. The food itself was mediocre at best, lacking in flavor and freshness. The pizza crust was soggy, and the toppings seemed to be of low quality.
Additionally, the ambiance of the restaurant was lackluster, with dated decor and uncomfortable seating arrangements. The noise level was also quite high, making it difficult to have a conversation without shouting.
Overall, our visit to Clarkville Pizza Place was a disappointment, marred by the unprofessionalism of the staff and subpar quality of the food. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience, especially not to families looking for a welcoming environment. It's clear that improvements in both customer service and food quality are desperately needed at Clarkville...
