I've been a regular at Green Line Cafe for quite some time, visiting 4 to 5 days a week. The service here has always been a bit hit or miss, with more hits than misses. However, my last two experiences have left me with no choice but to bid farewell to this establishment.
On one unfortunate morning, I ordered a large coffee and a honey walnut muffin. To my surprise, the cup was only filled a quarter of the way with coffee and then left aside. After a few minutes, the barista returned, topping off the cup with hot water. When I pointed out that this was not a large coffee, but essentially a cup of hot water, her response was curt and abrasive, informing me that the coffee had run out and offering to wait for a fresh pot. In the end, I left with a cup of hot water and no muffin, despite having paid for it.
My most recent visit on 10/20/2023 was equally disappointing. While the four customers in front of me were greeted warmly, the barista attending to me remained strangely silent. When I attempted to initiate a pleasant interaction, I was met with a brusque "what are you having." I ordered a coffee and a toasted everything bagel with butter and cream cheese, specifying it was for here. To my dismay, I was handed a coffee to-go. When I pointed out the misunderstanding, the barista responded with an annoyed expression and a dismissive remark about using a mug. I chose not to press the matter.
Upon receiving my bagel, I discovered it was not the everything bagel I had ordered and the butter was missing. When I returned to address the issue, the barista's attitude was even more disheartening. She showed no remorse, handing over the missing butter without so much as a word, and turned her back to me, laughing.
As I sat at my table, I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast in treatment between myself and the other customers in line. I have never felt so disrespected and belittled in any dining experience. It became evident to me that the poor service I received was not accidental, but intentional.
In the end, it is with regret that I must say goodbye to Green Line Cafe. The cumulative effect of these recent incidents has left me with no choice but to seek my morning...
Read moreSo I had time before a showing today, and a coworker recommended this place. I went in a little concerned. Most places with vegan options, tend to fail to deliver in other fare. And I have a ton of allergies. Not only were the workers courteous, they tried their best to help. But the atmosphere and food really sold it for me.
I had the Lemon Strawberry Vegan Scone, and Blueberry Oatmeal Muffin.
Things to know: I don't like scones I don't like vegan food And I often have allergic reactions to vegan foods.😑
This was DELICIOUS! 😄 I had them heat them up a little. The scone had the right amount of softness inside, and hardness outside. Amounting in perfect mouth feel. Not hard to chew, but not too soft either.
The muffin was great too. Great flavors, softness, and no crazy breaking up. The only thing that makes it 2nd, is that the Scone was killer.
I ate all the crumbs. That's how...
Read moreI went there this morning and instead of getting nice service I received a terrible attitude from the woman at the counter. She was EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME , all I asked was can she take the cheese off of the bacon egg and cheese before cooking it and she responded very rudely , she rolled her eyes then waited a little while then began explaining to me that the cheese has residue on the sandwich and that I can't get it without the cheese for 5 minutes as the line is building up past the front door and if you have ever been there then you know how tiny the store is. Furthermore, I tried to get a word in to say that it's okay, I'll have it with the cheese , then she said "so do you want the sandwich with the cheese or without because you can't seem to make up your mind." Like really???!!!! Never again! So I got the sandwich and the bacon was flaccid and undercooked and it wasn't worth...
