Just left Dwight's on Germantown Ave. My order came to 26.03. I gave the young man 31.03. He gave me back 4.00. I told him he old me a dollar. He said something to this other guy who told me he had to recount his whole cash register to see if they will come up short (mind you he did not say if they would come up extra. I think he thought I was going to day don't worry about it but I didn't. I waited for what seemed like at least 10 minutes and then he started talking to another employee. He then said let me finish counting this money for the lady. He then came over to me with the dollar and said he could not come up with anything. I told him his employee need to pay more attention. By the way he told the person at the cash register that I gave him 30.03. I watched him when he put the money in the register and he looked confused. The reason I gave him 31 03 was because I wanted him to give me a 5.00 bill back, not 4 ones. I haven't eaten yet. I may post how the food was. Also, I ordered 4 wings and asked how much as I did not see a price on the menu. He said 5.20. I thought that was a bit much but I wanted the wungs. Their service is not like it use to be. They had older people working when I last went which was a while back and they were more professional. Well, let's see how...
Read moreThere should be a zero star option. The day I went was a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait 15 minutes just to order my food from outside and 30 minutes to get my food. I ordered a fried chicken wing platter. Ok, the fried chicken was re-fried chicken. I truly suspect that it was a leftover order and they figured if they fried it again, I wouldn't notice, no sir I absolutely noticed. It was dried out, meaning I could barely tell the bone from the meat and either the grease needed changing or they left them in too long. I had greens that had absolutely nooo seasoning. It had big cut up stalks that were cooked with the greens. I guess that was the seasoning. Lastly I had potato salad. I never add salt to my food, especially "soul food". I had to add salt just to make it make sense. I have never had this kind of experience from a soul food restaurant before and it won't happen again because I will not be going there again. Word to the wise: check your platter before you leave there. I live too far to take it back and I don't think calling would have made a difference. Very...
Read moreIT'S A SHAME! Hubby and I decided to grab some BBQ and I went straight to Dwights. I should have known when I passed the window and only saw 2 people in there on a Friday evening. First, the smell hit me. Pinesol trying to mask a smell that wasn't the Dwight's I remember. On a Friday you would be hard pressed to get outta there in a half hour back in the day. Then I looked at the food. WTF Dwight's! Either the food looked dried out, non existent or barely there. A gentleman was asking one of the girls if there were greens. She looked at another girl totally clueless asking if they had more greens. Ummm I dunno was her first answer followed by a "no". The man settled for what appeared to be string beans. Remember their mac and cheese? Well it's looked like someone made Kraft mac and cheese only worse. In all good conscious I could not order from there. Muttering to myself as I left "I just can't eat any of this". I sat in the car totally upset. Where was the real Dwight's? Don't waste your gas or time going there. You'll end up like me talking to...
