Update: originally posted my unfortunate experience and the owners response here was prompt and understanding. I am amending my review in light of their response because it shows that they do care for patrons and our concerns. i will not contact further because i did not post the review for some freebies but for the principle of appropriate response to customer concerns. I recommend ANY of their cupcakes because they are always on point. their cookies are big and beautifully delicious. cinnamon roll is good. iced coffee hits the spot! i’ve had the hangover sandwich, the mccrumb, waffle hash and breakfast burrito and i just find it really awesome that they feature other vegan restaurants food. that’s innovative and great for trying different options with each bakery purchase. if you love cannolis get the large otherwise the mini will do the trick! chocolate and confetti cake are a GREAT gift for any last minute parties! parking sucks but there’s nothing the business can do about it. i would do dine in more often if there was easier parking in the area because the decor is very fun. they take apple pay. Snippet of my original review: i buy here very often. i buy cakes for birthdays, uber eats for delivery and do pick up. for the first time, i had an issue and i told an employee and their response was indifferent. […] my solution: use the BOGO on uber eats when selling treats that their quality might not be up to par with usual standard and take customers concerns seriously.

Imagine Etsy and Starbucks got together and had a vegan baby, That would be Batter & Crumbs! Dude when oversight, we did not have our Thanksgiving dinner that we had pre-ordered from another restaurant. Frantic because we were leaving Philadelphia to drive back to Miami, we were so thankful to find this cute little coffee shop for our last vegan meal in the city. The owner Paul was very kind and send us off with a few extra pastries once we told him our tale of trouble. We ordered breakfast sandwiches for lunch and another set for breakfast the next day since we were planning to stay at a truck stop. I was surprised to see they had vegan pumpkin pies left over. They tasted better than any I'd ever had before made with traditional ingredients! While we were enjoying our meal, Paul surprised us. He found one last gobbler sandwich that was not sold. That was their Thanksgiving special so he warmed it up for us and cut it into thirds. The sliced vegan turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing with just a little cranberry sauce was like Thanksgiving party in your mouth all in one sandwich! The baked goods were all delicious and I have to recommend the Captain crunch bar! We all enjoyed it very much as a snack on the drive. Thank you to Paul and the staff for making our Thanksgiving memorable! This will be the first place we return to when we come back to Philly next year!

Ordered on Uber eats. Got two orange juices in the small bottles. When they came they were this weird dark, oxidized color. Orange juice is not supposed to look like that. I actually went to the store and bought orange juice instead. The color difference says it all. Gross! They shouldn’t be selling bad orange juice. Also ordered a bagel with cream cheese. The cream cheese came on the side and once I put it on it was only enough for half of the bagel. Disappointed and will not buy from here again, even though the bagel was pretty good and the cold brew coffee was good. In response to the restaurant’s reply to my review: you actually can’t see the expiration date of the one in the front. And — yes, now you have received apparently your first complaint on this disgusting orange juice. Hope you take it to heart and make a change. It’s gross.

I wanted to get my son a special cake for his 13th Birthday. So I figured that I would just to the local Whole Foods but I decided to google any other place near me. Several places came up but for some reason this place stand out to me. Batter and Crumbs in South Philly. I saw some cakes on their website and they had grab and go options. I placed an online order for their cookie cake and the vanilla confetti. And asked my husband to take a ride with me. It was a half hour drive. We got there and my husband dropped me off so he can find a place to park. We got lucky with street parking close by. I went in and grabbed the cakes. The gentleman who helped me was extremely nice and helpful. I took the cakes and left to find my husband . We had a cooler prepared so we put the cakes in that. I told my husband that we should go back inside and look some more. He said, is it worth it? I said that the place looked like they had many options. I should have took a photo of the case. The gentleman who helped me originally came out from the counter and asked if we needed help. We explained that we drove over from New Jersey. That I googled vegan cake and his place popped up. He was thrilled that his marketing work. We started to point out options in the case. my husband saw “Jawn” and asked ”what is jawn” it’s a Philly term for anything. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ the guy explained that it is everything and nothing specific. So we ordered 2 of the Spinach Jawns, 1 of the Cheezy Mac & Pepperoni Jawn and 1 Southwest Chick'n Pinwheels. We love tshirts so we requested T-shirt’s of the place but they are not currently selling them but the owner gave them to us as a gift! So thrilled to step outside of my comfort zone and take a ride over to south Philly just for a cake. We will...

Such a lovely time, every time I visit this place. I had been looking for a new coffee shop that was consistent in how they make drinks, along with vegan options. I am quite picky with my drinks so they have to be correct every time or I won’t drink it, and caffeine is a must for me. I love the array of flavors I can get in my latte here, along with vegan cold foam! You cannot really find this anywhere else. The staff is also amazing and very knowledgeable if you have any allergies. If for some reason one of your items has an issue, they will fix it immediately. They are also extremely efficient and we’ve never had to wait long for anything. I would die for Michelle. I try to bring everyone I know here, and none of my friends are vegan. They always have a good time and find something they like. Batter & Crumbs has a wide variety of bakery items for everyone in your life, and they will take special orders for cakes as well which always turn out fantastic. Some of the popular items here are spinach jawns, cannolis, and of course, cupcakes. B&C also carry several local vegan business items like gluten-free treats from High Fidelity and Okie Dokie Donuts that I have brought to work several times for coworkers. They stock up their fridges with an array of breakfast sandwiches and regular entrees that can be heated up as well. It is wonderful to have a cafe in the neighborhood that is chill where you can bring your family, catch up with a friend, do work on your computer, or take it to go. You can also order from them on Uber Eats if you are really struggling to leave your bed (I have done this).

So glad to know these kind people and be able to...
