I recently visited Hannah K Cafe, a charming new Vietnamese breakfast restaurant that just opened. Coming from New Jersey, I am always worried about looking for parking in Philly, but while there’s no parking lot, I found street parking nearby, which wasn’t too much of a hassle during my visit.
From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy, cute ambiance. The space is small but thoughtfully decorated, with a bright, welcoming vibe that made me feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you’d want to linger at with friends or family.
I had Gracie’s Crispy Fried Rice which you can have with chicken or fried tofu but since I couldn’t decide, I went with chicken and also added the fried tofu on the side which I was very satisfied about and genuinely enjoyed. The prices were also very reasonable for the portion sizes—everything was filling without breaking the bank.
The service was friendly, and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant was full but we didn’t have to wait long for a table. As soon as we sat down, we were recommended and served viet iced coffee. Overall, Hannah K Cafe delivers on great food, value, and a comfortable setting. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to explore more...
Read moreA friend recommended Hannah K cafe, and I’m so glad I went! Located on the corner of Federal Street, I was warmly greeted by the staff as soon as I walked in which was a welcoming vibe. The place was cute and semi-busy for a late Friday morning.
I ordered the iced matcha latte with oat milk and the breakfast Sang Som’mer rolls. I had never heard of breakfast ingredients wrapped in a fresh roll wrapper before but it worked! I’m already thinking about how to recreate the whole thing at home. The homemade sauce it came with was also good. I enjoyed mixing it with sriracha.
As for the matcha latte - yes, it wasn’t sweet, but that’s how a traditional matcha latte should be. Earthy and refreshing without being very sugary. I was surprised some of the other reviews complained about the lack of sweetness.
The person who seemed to be the owner as well as the waitress were both friendly, and while service was a bit slow, the food made it more than worth the wait. My total came to just under $25 with a 20% tip.
Highly recommend this Vietnamese-American fusion neighborhood spot! I wish I lived in Philly just to come...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try out this new spot in the neighborhood for quite some time. It’s nice to see another small business open up here, plus I love Vietnamese and breakfast food! So I was really looking forward to finally having a meal here.
I got Matthias’ Hash and it was very tasty. However, the only downside is that my food came out pretty lukewarm and I even got a bite of a cold potato that was in the middle of the hash. Perhaps it was because we came in an hour and a half before closing so the potatoes were sitting around for quite some time? So that was slightly disappointing but other than that everything was good! We were able to get sat at a table immediately, our server was kind and attentive, and our food didn’t take long at all to come out.
My friend got Declan’s French Toast and she said it was really yummy! We both got the Vietnamese iced coffee too...
