I was fasting and it was my 1st meal of the day it was almost closing time. I expressed to Ross that it was my 1st time there. Never order food when you are hungry, because I order everything. Ross let me sample both soups. I liked the sweet potato one better but mixed was off the chain. So I ordered a half and half . But I only got the sweet potato I ordered an Italian hoagie with everything lol cause I'm starving. I order the grilled cheese with pasta salad. The coffee cake and the Brownie, with the tip, came to almost $40, I noticed that he was having a hard time slicing the roll after nooking it. Needless to say, the bread was so stale it was not edible. Very disappointed, Ross said they ran out of today's batch of fresh bread. I live alllll the way across town and have to decide as to take back over $20 worth of food or chalk it up as a loss. By the way, the $5 grilled cheese was the best thing I had, The brownie had an aftertaste but I liked the coffee cake. What do you suggest I do? Ross was super cool but could've suggested a sandwich or a different bread option. He knew it was not right. His last words were don't judge us because of the bread. Shame on you Ross. STALE AND...
Read moreAll around great spot. The soups (energy and pumpkin/jalapeño) were excellent. Robust, hearty and comforting on the very cold day I visited. The cheese-steak sub was nice and very filling. My slice of cake (to go) with the pineapple and banana filing was flavorful and moist, not crazy sweet. My friends got the chocolate with raspberry filling and they raved about it. Other customers also gave a thumbs up on the energy soup and chocolate raspberry cake. It's amazing that all the items on the menu are vegan. Many options to choose from. Portions were also generous. I went with a group of friends and we also purchased items to take home. Yummm! The owners were very cool and it was great to learn about the vegan scene in Philly and compare notes with the DMV. Will definitely be back when in Philadelphia. Highly...
Read moreI’m pretty disappointed, because I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest. My friend and I decided to stop by here because it’s close to her house. We were greatly underwhelmed though. The sandwiches were mid to say the least. Very basic, over priced, mostly bread. I got the grilled cheese, not a fan of the tomato in it but I gave it a try. She got the crab cake sandwich which was mostly bread! Not good at all in her opinion. I also ordered the soup which after our sandwiches being prepared and ready; the staff realized there was no soup. She was able to scoop the last little bit of a half cup of soup, which is not what I ordered, but they did provide me a frozen soup. I’m definitely not going to return. First impressions matter and this one says...
