I never wrote bad reviews before for other restaurants even food is not good, but this was such a shocking and disturbing experience.
We had one of the most upsetting dining experiences here. From the beginning, the server (middle aged white woman) threw menus, straws, and napkins on our table in a very rude manner. We ordered large size drinks but she gave small size. We double checked if the size is correct, and she insisted they are large size – which was clearly untrue when we saw other tables’ cups when we finished our lunch.
While we were still eating, she also just threw the check on our table, and no one explained that payment should be at the bar. Even after repeatedly saying “excuse me” to ask for help, we were completely ignored, while the server was friendly and responsive to the white family right next to us. On top of that, the server slammed items down behind us, making us feel extremely uncomfortable throughout the meal.
The difference in treatment compared to other customers was shocking and humiliating. This was not just bad service — it was blatant racial discrimination. We left feeling unwelcome and disrespected.
What makes it even worse is that I’ve now seen other reviews describing similar discriminatory treatment, and clearly nothing has been done to address it. That makes this experience even more disappointing and...
Read moreI was looking for a quick breakfast for my last day in Philadelphia, and I found Little Pete's conveniently right near the Museum of Art. I walked in and got seated right away. The crowd runs older, but it was a lively atmosphere. The server was friendly and no-nonsense. I ordered the eggs and scrapple which came with home fries and toast. I hadn't tried scrapple before, but she told me it was a Philly Philly thing, so i decided to give it a go. Because it's vacation, I also had a screwdriver on the side (yes, they have a full bar!)
The food arrived, and the portions were generous. The scrapple was fried golden brown and was crispy on the outside. The seasoning was really good, but the texture inside was a little mushy like a patè (it's kindof like a sausage made with ground pork scraps, spices and cornmeal). To be honest, it wasn't my favorite breakfast protein, but I am glad I had the opportunity to try it. The potatoes were a little dry and the eggs were cooked well.
Overall, breakfast was a good experience here. The pricing was reasonable for both the food and drinks, and the location makes it a good place to eat before seeing the art museum and the...
Read moreAte there this past Saturday during brunch. We were a group of 3. Ordered the platter that included eggs, pancakes and a choice of meat. I chose bacon. When the order arrived, I said to my party that I didn't expect to get so much bacon. Wow! Also, ordered a mimosas which unfortunately wasn't a part of the brunch special. Anyway, I get a $28 bill which I question. Turns out the waitress gave me an a la carte order -- 3 pancakes(not the 2 that come with the platter) and a side order of bacon. I refute the bill with staff at the register and that's when the BS continues. Sidenote: Woman behind me in line compliments my locs then proceeds to touch them.😳 Ok, back to my review. The cashier starts to give me advice on how to order properly, cause I guess pointing to the menu item and stating what I want isn't enough. Perhaps the waitress should be trained to repeat the order so there's no misunderstandings. I could go on but I'll spare you. In closing, I appreciate you, IHOP staff! You don't have to resort to inflating the tab to earn a good tip. My first and...
