Makumba Restaurant Bar — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I heard alot about the Terraza Makumba so my husband and I decided to check it out yesterday to enjoy some drinks and food. Well not the best experience I should've went to Bahamas breeze, first we got there and ok our waitress got us a table right away then we ordered our drinks and it began. We ordered a hookah and when my husband was smoking I notice something was floating in the water that looked like dirt or old water that's been sitting there for days omg disgusting fine they changed it we paid our 20 dollars but didn't finish it because who knew if they even cleaned the hoses eww nasty. Then the waitress disappeared seem to be more interested on these guys that kept buying expensive bottles she completely forgot to place our order for food. To make it short, we had to complaint to another waiter and that was after about an hour and half wait she brings the food out COLD and all she did was blame the kitchen when it was her job to go and check. We saw other people food come out but she was too worried about the table with the bottles, we returned the food and didn't want it. We just left, very unorganized. Didn't enjoy at all I went to a food truck after and enjoyed my tostones with carne salda with better service and the fraction of the price. Please disinfect those hookahs!! You're messing with...

Really good, DJ, so you can dance in your seat. There is no dance floor. The place is overcrowded with chairs and tables so ppl dance between the tables, they dance at the bars, anywhere they can find space. I've never seen anything like this. I had a few patron and pineapple drinks, and there is no way that was actually Patron. I had a headache for 24 hours. Upscale prices for drinks, not an upscale establishment. The bartender, who looked like a manager because of her clothing, ate at the bar the whole time in front of everyone. She ate chips out of a cup and licked her fingers, then served drinks without washing her hands. She also had a plate of food while bartending. Very unprofessional. They no longer have a open space to dance at. They added too many tables and chairs. They want you to puchase a bottle of wine. Wisky,RUM or Vodka if you sit at the tables. Which are anywhere from $150 and up . If you just want to buy mixed drinks you have to sit at the bar. If your drinking beer you have to sit all the way in the back to your right side small tables. VIP section you have to buy a bottle $$$ same rule dace around your table. You basically dance around or at your table. Men pay admission $20, ladies free until 10pm.
