Let me start by saying I don’t leave reviews often but, this is a long one. I’ve come to manayunk brewing co over the past decade and my visit for the Super Bowl on 2/9 will be my last. We came here for the superbowl in 2018 and the experience was great so we thought why not come back in 2025. We were probably within the first 20 people who bought tickets and arrived just as the doors opened because printed on the tickets was “first come first serve seating”. We were sat in a place towards the back of the restaurant so I decided to ask if we could move just 1 table over for views of the TVs (all which are positioned towards the front of the main bar). The woman who had green hair and a very anxious looking hostess brought me to a woman standing at the front with longer blonde hair and before we got to her one informed her of my request. She started clapping her hands saying “no, no, no seating changes” she continued to raise her voice at me as I explained it wasn’t very transparent that they would have a seating chart pre set. She said it was based on when we bought tickets but that also didn’t make sense because the group next to us bought tickets weeks after I did. She was honestly so rude towering over me (a 5ft woman) aggressively telling me that we could take our refund and leave if we weren’t happy damn well knowing it’s an eagles Super Bowl and changing plans hours before the game is not feasible. She openly spoke just as trashy to her employees who all looked miserable. The thing she didn’t realize was I’m pregnant (not that I expect people to) but it’s one of those be kind to everyone since you have no idea what they are going through scenarios. So, I sat at the table pretty upset and stressed out which isn’t healthy or fair in tears coming to terms with what happened and multiple guests witnessed it and checked on me. Even our waitress (Gina) asked what she could do. The craziness didn’t stop there. My husband went to the car to grab me something and she barked at him that there was no re-entry for anyone once the game started. That also made me very uneasy. She told people who were going outside to smoke the same and then around the second quarter hopped in her car right outside the door and left. I sent them and email to try and resolve or bring attention to what occurred but it has gone unanswered since 2/9. I recently connected that this woman is one of the owners which makes it even worse. I sincerely hope they consider the treatment of their future customers. Manayunk brewing used...
Read moreMy wife and I got married last April and chose this place for our wedding reception. As craft beer lovers, we chose Manayunk Brewing Company very early on in our wedding planning process due to the “vibe” of having our reception at a brewery as well as the very competitive pricing of the space. We were immediately introduced to Paris, who quickly became one of the best and most helpful people in our wedding planning. She was amazing throughout the entire process and always took the extra mile to make sure that we were organized and excited!
The event space itself is on the second floor above the restaurant. There are separate entrances, so you won’t have to worry about running into regular patrons during your event. Renovations were being done at the time of our wedding, so the space may look different now, but at the time, it was a wonderful blend of industrial and old-fashioned that was ideal for our aesthetic. The room was also the perfect size for the number of guests we had (around 70). Again, the space has gone through renovations, so you should go see it for yourself in order to see what changes have occurred.
The food was fantastic! We are still receiving compliments from attendees on how excellent the food (and the drinks) were! An advantage that this place has is having the restaurant on the first floor; any diet restrictions that a few of our guests had were able to be easily accommodated. Also, if you’re going to have an open bar, it’s awesome to be able to have a wide selection of craft beer being offered instead of the usual two or three generic options that you normally get at most weddings.
Another nice touch was that a separate plate of the hors d’oeuvres was set aside for us to make sure that we actually got to have some when we had a break in being good hosts to our guests. The staff made sure throughout the night that we were eating and drinking enough so that we weren’t missing out on our own reception food and drinks, which we heard has happened to many couples at many other places.
We would readily recommend Manayunk Brewing Company for an event space! The restaurant/brewery downstairs is excellent as well; we’ve gone there on several occasions and have never been...
Read moreWhat a lovely place! We went to the manayunk brewery to have brunch, and I must say, this is a place you need to come to. While they still may be getting over hurricane Ida, it's still a very nice place to come to. Their kegs are still damaged, so any original craft beer won't be ready until they get that fixed. They still have a nice choice of beers to offer you.
This was my first time to Manayunk, and it was pretty easy to get to. Straight run down the Schuylkill, and you're right there.
For starters, we ordered the mango wings, the zucchini fries, and the corn dip. Each appetizer was delicious. The mango wings were a little too wet but they were very tasty. The zucchini fries with the dill dressing were really good and worth a second try. The corn dip was the star for me. You got homemade chips with this corn crab, cheese dip that was out of this world!
We ordered drinks. I tried a sample of the milk stout, which wasn't sweet enough for me. My friends ordered an old fashioned, and a citrus IPA, which tasted pretty good.
For the entrees I ordered the Osaka roll, and my friends ordered, the mushroom pizza, the tuna salad, and the steak salad. I want to say the steak salad was the best of the lot, but the other entrees were awesome as well. My Osaka roll came with bang bang sauce which was really good and really paired nicely with it. The tuna salad had thinly cut slices of tuna in it, and they were cooked really well. Not too overdone. The mushroom pizza was delicious! I don't think any entree was a miss!
We ended the meal with churros and coffee, and I must say I really had an enjoyable meal here. I would definitely come back here again when they're when their brewery is back up and running and you can get fresh beer here.
Sorry about not writing down the prices, but it's pretty reasonable here. Think 50 bucks a person with drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert with coffee.
If you're in the Manayunk area, I definitely recommend coming here. It's a 5 out of 5! The ambiance is beautiful being next to a river and it's just a nice vibe sitting outside soaking up the area, with a nice drink in your hand. The service was really attentive and nice. I didn't find any bad thing to say...
