If you're looking for Philadelphia best kept coffee secret head over to Main Street Manayunk. Pilgrim Roasters opened up in 2017 right around the same time we moved to the East Falls area and we have frequented them ever since, in fact, I think there was like 2 or 3 straight months that we went to Pilgrim Roasters every single day and we have had countless meetings with our clients at this coffee shop. Ryan & Dan are the face of the business and they are what we look forward to the most with each visit a pay to their business. They are hard working, consistent and will happily take the time to give recommendations, share knowledge and tell you about their product. Their morals and ethics as business owners are top notch. Overall extremely chill guys we have come to call friends after knowing them the past couple years. Their coffee is extremely high quality and the atmosphere is completely approachable and non-pretentious. We have loved watching Pilgrim Roasters through all of it's phases the past two and a half and are looking forward to watching Pilgrim Roasters humbly pioneer the Philly coffee scene over the upcoming years ahead.

This is the first coffee shop I went in after I arrived at the place from downtown Philadelphia. I took the bus number 65 to get there without transferring which is very convenient. The shop is located right at the bus stop. So once you got off the bus you can look on the other side of the street. The shop is right there. I went to immediately because the exteriors is inviting and also there are people sitting outside. It looks very warm and peaceful. The price is reasonable but I didn't see a lot of seating inside. It was hot outside so I just bought a coffee to go. The service is good. It is a great place to start the walking while drinking coffee from the Northeast side of the street and touring all the artist shops and enjoying the street view. There is also a water trail on downstairs.

Pilgrim Roasters is a coffee shop for those who really love coffee. And I mean *really* LOVE coffee. If you're looking for a "cuppa joe," you may want to check elsewhere. That's not to say the coffee isn't fantastic, it's first-rate stuff. Go there and !enjoy! your coffee. I had the macchiato and it was extraordinary (do NOT add anything to it - enjoy it as is). That said I can see someone feeling a bit intimidated by the menu board (it's not always easy to ask what "Cortado" is) but feel free to ask. The barista took the time to explain the "three layers". When I ordered the macchiato, he was kind enough to say it may be a little different than what I have had elsewhere (read "Starbucks"). Not sure about other non-coffee items on the menu. Free WiFi.

I love this place, all of their coffees are great, iced, espresso, filter, pour over, you can't go wrong. They're all better than I can make at home and I have all the right equipment. More recently though, I've decided to take a break. I had been going to Pilgrim pretty regularly and been getting kinda annoyed that they didn't seem to have a loyalty program and I was spending $5 each time I went. I finally asked about it and it turns out they do indeed have a loyalty program, but don't really advertise it. I was thrilled to find this out, but I really struggle with their execution of the loyalty program. It almost seems they're half hearted about the whole program. First off, they don't advertise it on any board in or outside the store. Secondly, after you buy a coffee they do not ask if you have a loyalty card to be stamped. Meaning, I have to remember to ask every single time for them to stamp my card. Thirdly, there's been times when I have forgotten to ask for the stamp and later come back that same day (today it was an hour after) or the day after to ask for my stamp and I am told no, it's a 'use it or lose it situation' where you have to remember to ask as you are completing your transaction. This is all pretty frustrating. I'd actually almost rather they scrap the loyalty program than have such specific rules about its execution. It's honestly really frustrated me given how frequently I go and spend at least $5 each time on coffee. I feel like I am being nickle and dimed for a loyalty card stamp. So, in summary, great coffee but I've recently had multiple poor customer service experiences related to the loyalty program that I am actually going to stop going...

Really disappointed by this place because I heard raving reviews and was very excited to try it out. My bf and I went at like 11am on a Saturday, we weren't greeted when we walked in, and got treated like we didn't belong there. It feels like some uppity place that only yoga moms would go to. We ordered our overpriced coffee and waited in the tiny cafe area they have at a rickety wooden table. Terrible experience, but maybe the coffee is good, right? wrong. My cold brew was super watered down, and we were shut down when we asked for a caramel latte because they only have three syrups: vanilla, hazelnut, and lavender. Really disappointed and won't be going back. Eremita and Unity Java are leagues better than this place, have nice and friendly employees, tasty pastries, and more than two...
