Terrible! My co-workers and I order from Matt & Marie's for lunch. It took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to deliver us our food. Mind you we are a five minute walk. When calling to see where our order was, they mentioned the driver hasn't picked it up yet. So now, our sandwiches are soggy.
Once getting our order, they forgot a sandwich, 3 bags of chips and cookies. I called and informed them about the missing items. They did replace the sandwiches and chips but ran out of the cookies.
We order a total of 6 sandwiches, and three of the six sandwiches were missing ingredients! Ingredients, that we didn't add, ingredients that technically come on their sandwich! We also ordered a salad that was soaked in dressing. To the pointed we had to pat dry the salad because it seemed as if someone dumped the entire bottle of dressing on the salad. The taste was awful as the dressing tasted completely like vinegar.
We will never never order for this place ever again. There are other sandwich shops around Philadelphia that are 10 times better! This was one of my worst experience with ordering food for...
Read moreIt seems that every time I try this place they are out of something I order. I tried it for a 3rd time today thinking they might be more on their game, as they've been open a while now. No such luck. They were out of an ingredient for the Ducati sandwich. No bother, I ordered the Falafel Italiano instead. Now I am no falafel expert, but I have a had it a great many times in the past. The thin yellow, wafer-like squares on this sandwich were nothing close to falafel. They weren't even fried. The closest thing I could guess was that maybe they were polenta? It's a mystery. However, since they were so thin the sandwich was mostly consumed by bread, arugula, and globs of aioli. Overall I felt like I was eating a lettuce and mayo sandwich. Would definitely not recommend. Also, the girl shook my iced coffee over ice due to the face that it was not yet cold, so I ended up with watered-down luke warm coffee. Only stars I give are due to atmosphere/style and the fact that the...
Read moreWent here for lunch and the food was very good. I got the Testarosa, and it was delicious. The pork was very flavorful and the bread was very fresh. It was toasted, which was a nice touch.
That said, however, I have to agree with some of the reviews about the service. It was absolute chaos in there. There is no ordering system; someone just takes your order and then you continue on to pay. They don't take your name or give you a number, but just call out sandwich names (of which there could be multiple people who have ordered the same thing). The person who takes your order isn't necessarily the person who makes it, I guess, because the woman who took my order promptly disappeared behind the scenes, so it was difficult to track if my sandwich was even being made or if I should be the next person expecting to get the type of sandwich I ordered when they call it out.
So the ordering system could use some work, but the food...
