As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, this place is cozy. It's very small, the lights are dim, and the walls are either brick or painted in dark green. The front door opens right into the bar and if you go to the right, there's a small dining room. I'm not sure if the menu is different over on that side or not, but the bar menu is pub food only. They probably have about 15 beers on tap as well. For my entree this evening I had a bacon cheeseburger for dinner and let me tell you it's a very thick burger with all the toppings and cheese slice of your choice (cheddar) melted on top. If you don't like pink in the middle you may want to ask for Well Done instead of Medium Well here. My companion shared my burger and she had the 5 Alarm Chili Cheese Fries. This was a huge plate of fries smothered in chili that had black beans in it. She said while it was really good, they were more like a false alarm when it came to the promised heat. The CCF was so big it had to be boxed up. This is a nice little cozy neighborhood pub. I wish we had places like this back home in Va. Beach. If I lived in Philly I would definitely be a regular here.

I recently visited McCrossen's Tavern in Philadelphia and had a decent experience overall. My friend and I ordered the French onion soup and the fried chicken sliders, and while they were okay, they didn't quite blow us away. However, the drinks were solid, and we enjoyed the cozy ambiance of the restaurant. The highlight of our visit was the fact that we had a good time - the atmosphere was friendly and inviting, and it made for a nice night out. That said, I do have to mention that the service was a bit slow. While our server was friendly, it took a while for our food and drinks to arrive, and we found ourselves waiting longer than we would have liked. Overall, I would recommend McCrossen's Tavern as a nice spot to hang out and have a drink, but the food and service could use some improvement. It's worth checking out if you're in the area, but keep in mind that you may have to be patient while you're there.

My first time here. My boys and I were looking to have some wings and beer also b able to dine in! We found this place and walked in even though they were busy a gentleman who I think either was the owner or a manager came over and asked us if we were doing okay and we would prefer to sit in the next room which was much quieter and moved us and made sure we liked the table. He was awesome. Then we had max who was our server nice guy he made the night! We ordered french onion soup, arugula salad, chicken wings, French fries, chicken Philly steak, Philly steak, muscles in a white sauce. Everything was yummy and delish. Had a wonderful time with my boys. Great food good people. Definitely go back

Loved it! We selected this place by through a Google Maps-dartboard through and boy did we win big! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful...the dining room had a cozy inviting fire going... and the food was BONKERS! The loaded fries will have you wonder how you lived your life before now! Bacon egg and cheese with a side of great fries was just what I needed. Glad we got off the BSL and took a walk over to this gem of a tavern. Will definitely visit again as well as recommend 100%!
