My 2nd coffee shop in less than an hour! That’s because my first stop was not what my coffee palate preferred! See my previous review about Coffee Cream & Dreams. So you’re probably reading this because you’re looking for a coffee shop that aligns with your coffee taste. Twisted Grounds is more like it for me. Light-medium roast and clean to the palate. Perfect temperature and they have mugs & pastry serving dishes! My black drip is definitely satisfying especially having. I also ordered the coffee cake muffin and it’s great & fresh! They do have a great selection of pastries, including vegan. So it was hard to choose.
Staff can certainly be more friendly, happy and cultured about coffee. I was curious as to where the origin of house drip was from but she wasn’t happy to answer. She did say what company roasted it but not where the beans are from. Still this is the coffee shop I would recommend if you’re in the Fairmount /Philadelphia Ave. & Kelly Drive...

Before I even moved to the neighborhood, I found myself coming here every morning before work. The quality of the coffee is exceptional—consistent, rich, and clearly crafted by people who know what they’re doing. Ashley, the manager, along with the entire barista team, are not only highly skilled but also warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do.
Now that I live nearby, it’s become my daily ritual to stop in for my morning Cortado. The staff always greet you with a smile and remember your usual—something that makes the experience feel more like visiting friends than just grabbing coffee.
This place sets the standard for what a great coffee shop should be. I truly hope to see Twisted Grounds continue to grow and thrive, especially here in the Spring Garden area. They deserve every bit of success...
Read moreI stopped in today and ordered an iced latte, which was genuinely very good. However, I had a disappointing experience with the service. While I was there, a customer came in and asked for an iced cappuccino. The manager, who seemed to be training someone, responded with, “Well, what do you mean by that?” in a tone that felt unnecessarily condescending. I can only imagine how uncomfortable or embarrassed that customer might have felt.
After he paid and sat down, she continued complaining, loudly and at length, about how annoying it is when people order drinks they “can’t make.” As another paying customer sitting nearby, it was unpleasant to overhear someone in a management role talking negatively about patrons. It came off as very unprofessional and left a bad impression.
The coffee was great, but the experience made me think twice...
