I finished a meeting in the Art Museum area and decided to get sushi nearby. This restaurant was convenient and had mostly good reviews. The food was lovely but the service except for the sushi chefs was unsatisfactory. There was a man who worked in the back, who kept staring at me while I ate my food. After I paid for my meal, I went to the bathroom and after I returned to my seat to request a car service ride. Since it was dark outside, I stayed inside the restaurant until my ride was closer. I wished everyone a good night and left the restaurant. The same man who was staring at me while I ate, followed me out of the restaurant. I was standing at the corner of 18th and Spring Garden for my ride and I could see him watching me from in front of the restaurant. Once I got into the car and closed the door, he went back into the restaurant. That behavior is deeply unprofessional and creepy. I wish I could have given this restaurant five stars for...
Read moreI’ve lived in the area for about a year now, and Kansai has become a bi-weekly staple of my diet. Their food is delicious and consistent. I really cannot speak any higher of this place, it is just that good. Best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had — it makes you wonder how other sushi places can get it so wrong. Spicy scallop is also a favorite. They also somehow make a Godzilla roll even more delicious than what you expect, it’s magical. Highly, highly recommend this place. Even if you’re not a big sushi guy, they do EXCELLENT Japanese style fried rice and dishes ala what you’d expect from hibachi. Their gyoza is also on point (If you can’t tell by now, I’ve pretty much ordered the whole menu). Also I should add this place is a pretty good value — the sushi prices are about what you expect but the rolls are very large with minimal rice; you get your...
Read moreLet's start with the GOOD: The Sushi itself was phenomenal. But we're not there yet. Arrival was fast, driver was super nice - but they'd also smoked a cigarette so recently I could smell it through my mask, AND on my food bag. Concerned we wouldn't be and to use the utensils, we opened the bag to find there were none🤦🏻♂️. Ok. Minor oversight. But my biggest concern is the fact the 'Crabmeat' roll was not CRAB meat. I've eaten hundreds of sushi restaurants in my life btw Virginia, NY, San Diego and Seattle. Krabmeat is not CRABMEAT. So if your using Krab STICK in a roll that calls itself a CRABMEAT roll, please specify that in the description so I don't buy 3 and waste my money. But again, your sushi was...
