My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Miller's Alley House in Philadelphia, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a charming and cozy ambiance, with a blend of rustic decor and modern touches. The dim lighting and comfortable seating created a relaxing environment that was perfect for our family gathering. The walls adorned with local artwork added a personal touch that we really appreciated.
Service: The service at Miller’s Alley House was exceptional. Our servers were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They went out of their way to make us feel special, even taking the time to chat with us about the history of the restaurant and their favorite dishes. The highlight was when they offered to take a family photo for us, ensuring we had a wonderful keepsake from our evening.
Food: The food was nothing short of amazing. We started with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce. For the main course, I opted for the braised short ribs, which were melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. My partner had the seared salmon, which was fresh and expertly prepared, served with a delicious herb-infused risotto. The kids enjoyed their wood-fired pizzas, which were a hit with their perfectly crisp crusts and generous toppings.
Drinks: The drink menu was impressive, offering a wide selection of local craft beers, fine wines, and creatively crafted cocktails. I highly recommend the house special cocktail, the “Alley Martini,” which was a delightful blend of gin, elderflower liqueur, and fresh lime juice – refreshing and perfectly balanced.
Dessert: We couldn’t resist ending our meal with dessert. The chocolate lava cake was decadent and rich, served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream that perfectly complemented the warm, gooey center. The seasonal fruit tart was also a hit, with its buttery crust and fresh fruit filling.
Overall Experience: Miller’s Alley House provided an unforgettable dining experience. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere made it a perfect spot for our family outing. It’s clear that the staff takes pride in their work, and their attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and a beautiful family photo that captured the essence of our wonderful evening.
We highly recommend Miller’s Alley House to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Philadelphia. Whether you’re with family, friends, or on a romantic date, this place has something...
Read moreI have patronized a couple times but tonight I had the WORST SERVICE & TREATMENT, not only from the waitress but another staff member. 1st we waited 15-20 mins before ANYONE even asked us what we wanted to drink. 2nd she took the appetizer order and came back quickly to ask us our entree order. Another 20-25 wait for the appetizers and the side salad (which should’ve come out with the entree) AGAIN waited so long for the entrees we had finished two appetizers!! Food comes 25-30 mins later. She asked once if we needed refills & if we were ok. Another couple is seated and they were greeted quickly given drinks and she had a whole conversation with them IGNORING my polite gesture to let her know we needed take out boxes. She brings the boxes and gives us the check and say “NO RUSH” LITERALLY 3 mins later her coworker comes over and says are you ready to pay as we were gather TIP money that the waitress did not deserve. So as we are leaving because I was curious to know why we were told no rush and RUSHED! The coworker says “She went on a smoke break and asked me to get the money” mind you she has a very disgusted look on her face as she is speaking to me. I asked her why she was looking like this and tell her that we were told not to rush. She rudely says something under her breath rolls her eyes and walks off. I TRULY hate to pull the race card but we were THE ONLY people of color in this establishment at this time & watched as everyone else got prompt and polite service. I will be making a formal complaint. I’m very humble and that is what calmed me into just walking away. But it was a terrible service...
Read moreI've never had a negative experience with Miller ale House @ Roosevelt Boulevard & Grant before today. However, it was horrible. Upon arriving we waited at the door for about 5 minutes before seeing a hostess who came out to speak to another guest at a table, she looked back and pointed to a table and told us to seat ourselves. I've never experienced anything like that in my life, that's one. While sitting there other guests came after us and she had no problem greeting them and taking menus and seating them appropriately. I'm beginning to think this is a black thing. Furthermore, After sitting at the table for which seemed to be 15 mins, my arm laid on top of the table which had some sticky residue all over the table and I had to wait to get her attention to come clean the table, that's two. I did not want to make a scene so I went outside to call the store manager but he was unavailable because he was at another restaurant. So I was given his name Edward Handlon. I wanted him to know my experience in his restaurant I didn't want to embarrass the young lady by asking for her manager. Finally, my food was not great. I had 35 shrimp and fries. My fries were cold and my shrimp was lukewarm, the young lady asked if everything was okay and I told her no my fries were cold and she brought me back some more which were fine. The problem is, I pay attention to everything, I pay attention to details when I arrive at a restaurant and when I leave. I see how you treat me against other customers and I was not satisfied and I will not be returning. No photos needed I will not...
