Morning Star Pastries — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Decided to try this restaurant for lunch after receiving a recommendation from a family friend. We ordered the wonton soup, which was pretty good. The wontons were big and packed with flavor, although maybe most of the flavor was attributed to MSG. Also ordered a beef chow fun (dry). This is why my rating is so slow. I understand that cost of goods is high, but to charge customers $11 plus tax for this is unacceptable. We barely received half a takeout container. I have been here many times but this is my first review. Love this place, one of the best and closest to Hong Kong style food. My favorite dish is beef stew noodle soup, then clay pot chicken with mushrooms and spareribs. Remember to call ahead to pre order the clay pot rice or else you will have to wait for a long time! Looking at the beef noodles it looked like it had no flavor but i found it to be actually a complete soup flavor wise. I felt full by the end of it. I was pleasantly surprised the flavors worked well together and although the meat looked like Chinese fast food it actually wasn't. Would get again.
