We had a ladies day out and went to this amazing Albanian restaurant serving authentic dishes named Two Eagles Cafe at 1401 South 20th Street. Parked directly in front of restaurant. Not only is the food delicious but the seating and service is impeccable. It is a cozy family owned restaurant and the owners are a lovely couple named Nadire and Rudi who was present, welcoming, hard working with good conversation. You will never have to look for anyone, always available. Shout out to the talented Spresa as well. In a group of four we were able to share the 3 Specialty Lunch Platters. The plates were picture perfect with a savory taste. I didn't see this on the menu, but it was nice large size slices called "Byrek me spinaq" Spinach pie similar to quiche. Excellent crust, texture and taste. We ended our lunch date with delicious Macchiato, Cappuccino and Latte (awesome cup sizes) and of course the best dessert for when your stuffed and I surely was. The dessert named "Pandispanje" reminded me of moist cornbread with not too sweet sauce drizzled over it. It was perfect, light and tasty with really cute miniature spoons. I will include pics, it's a must see. Sorry, I may have forgotten to take pics before digging in to the plate. Nevertheless, the price is very reasonable and great portion sizes. Looking forward to returning and would like to try everything on the menu. This place and the family are pure gems. Please don't miss out. Thanks for the wonderful food, customer service and conversation Nadire and Rudi!!! Until we meet again, keep up the great work and May God Continue to...
Read moreTwo Eagles Cafe is a wonderful spot for breakfast or brunch in Point Breeze neighborhood. It’s family owned and operated business and the hospitality was just amazing. The owners and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The service was really fast too.
My friend and I went there for brunch and we both enjoyed our time there very much. He ordered veggie omelette and I ordered polish omelette. They were both so delicious and fresh. After that, he ordered Albanian style meatballs and I had burger with eggs which was recommended by the owner. I just loved my burger. It was extremely delicious and very well seasoned. Lastly, we shared two eagles crepe and it was also really good.
The cafe looks small when you enter there, but there is more seating area in the back of cafe. The place was very clean and the atmosphere was just lovely. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is definitely worth every penny you spend....
Read moreIn a digital disconnected world, this place is like a good vinyl record that reminds you of how restaurants should be : a place where what you want matters, where YOU matter. Let me explain: rare are the places where the owner herself takes your order and serves you the food. She takes the time to get it right. And then she stops ( after being invited into a conversation) to make small talk and asks about you. In a world that is becoming more and more disconnected, this place is like a going home of sorts. Everything tastes homemade, the coffee is strong but not bitter, and the conversation is homey too.
If I lived in South Philly instead of NYC, I’d be a regular here, because the price is right, the food is right, and the owners make you feel welcome. Food is more than about ingredients, and flavour, it is also about community, and this place gets it...
