I've always liked the pizza but I repeatedly have the worst luck actually getting my food right. The frequency of my visits has declined over the last seventeen years from multiple times per week to just a handful per year. I've been to most of the locations in the east valley and several others around town. My experience has become fairly typical across the board. Mostly I eat by the slice at lunchtime. Pricewise it's still a good deal.

On the latest visit that prompts me to write a review, at roughly 2:40 on a Saturday I was happy to learn that a sausage pizza was about to come out of the oven. Often the late afternoon pizzas have been sitting a while. At this point I was being helped by a male worker who might have been a manager.

I was given a number to display at my table (and no receipt by the way) and I waited for at least ten minutes. A young lady had already talked to a nearby family and conveyed a similar message and apology about their sausage pizza in the oven. Eventually she came out to deliver several plates of food to then. They had been there a while and apparently already eaten another pizza. They didn't seem annoyed and I don't know what had happened but, regardless, the server was attentive and apologetic. She made a second trip and then explained something about doubling up the slices as the kitchen had cut them wrong.

So I expected mine to follow right away. Yet five minutes later I still had nothing. I walked back to the counter where there were now two staffers helping other new customers. I half expected the remaining sausage to disappear while I stood there in line.

On my turn I told young lady #2 I had been waiting a long time and mentioned the prior comment about it coming out of the oven very soon. Presumably she thought I meant a full pizza, rather than the slices that stay in a warmer right behind the register, and said something about checking on it. She marched away to the kitchen, before I could protest, and never came back.

When the other girl finished with her customer, the same one who was shuttling plates to my neighbor, I think I told her that girl #2 was checking on something in the back. Shortly girl #1 disappeared too.

Finally after another minute or two the original guy back came out front. At least he immediately asked if I ever got my pizza. Well no, that's why I'm still holding this here number thingy in my hand. He didn't seem aware of my last two staff interactions as best I could tell from the conversation.

He dished out a slice on a plate and then asked me if had ordered one or two. I told him that it was just one. He hesitated for a second and then passed me the plate which had the usual portion only with an extra cut down the middle. He said something like "ok, well I gave you two."

The comment was a bit odd but I won't read to much in it. Was I was supposed to interpret it as a special gesture for waiting even though in reality it was no bigger than I would've gotten otherwise? While I might gripe that they didn't attempt to make it up to me with a free drink, I hadn't actually wanted more food than what I purchased. Of course it was now after 3 when the lunch period ends and I've witnessed before how those unsold slices go straight to the trash bin so throwing in one more certainly wouldn't have hurt them as far as that goes.

It doesn't matter to me where exactly the blame belongs. And my goal was never to get anything for free. There's just no excuse for this kind of scenario playing out over and over again. Past emails expressing my frustration by have failed so I figured I'd just...

MY GOD DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! I placed an order on 11/17/2016 for 2 large pizzas with the manager Josh taking the order. My Fiance placing the order with Josh. When asked at the end of the order if there was anything else we needed - my fiance said just ranch. As any order we have ever placed the order was read back not specifically noting the ranch. The driver arrived and once left i noticed no ranch was in the boxes. I ran out and asked him if it was possible to bring back ranch and he said it would be no problem to go back since we ordered it. I called back about an hour later and Josh immediatly without commentary notes that it was a woman on the phone. I specifically said i am yhe onee who asked my fiance to request ranch. He continued to say it was a woman who placed the call and that he was the one who took the call. I assuered him that i heard her request it. He continued to say it wasnt on the order. The man continued on badically stating i am lying because he would never accept that he was incorrect. I HEARD MY FIANCE STATE THAT WE NEED RANCH. I gave him the chance- i understand but we placed the ranch order. Its not acceptable for us to make an order and for you to make a mistake and have and our order reep the cons of such. Josh is possibly the most inconsiderate untolarable stuck up not accepting of failure on himself manager in customer service possible.i only wish you could have heard the voicemail he left me on the matter. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.

I would like a response on this matter so i know action is being taken. Thank you for horrible service and i will be sure to spread the word further on the...

They really need to have a no star status. This is the worst barro's location i have been to yet!!!! I try to give them another try each time.... Well this is my LAST time!!!!! They know that they run lunch specials 5 days out of the week nothing has changed for the past years so there should be no lapse in pizza's coming out they should basically be making them non stop!! They literally have people standing outside the door for lunch today and a whole other line waiting for pizza to be served thats still in the oven that's supposedly going to be ready in 10 minutes but 30 minutes later I'm still waiting!!! At this point I am fed up and passed my lunch break I asked for a refund and the girl said they're not sure if they could do it, after a store manager Nick finally agrees the girl says it'll be refunded in about 7 days....well how do you know where to refund me if you don't have my card information because you never gave me a receipt but yet the lady in the fronts continues to argue and says we will make sure you get your refund so now you see how they treat their customers no food and no information to refund the money so I'm s* out of both of them..... Trust me this is not the first time and if you have been to this location you know exactly what...

First, and foremost, we enjoy the food at Barro's Pizza. This rating is ONLY based on a management decision. We ordered a Pizza based upon a Coupon that we received indicating that we could get One Large Pizza with One Topping for FREE. We ordered the Pizza and upon payment we noticed that we were charged $3.20 for the Chicken Topping. The young lady getting our order understood what we were asking because we couldn't locate anything on the Coupon that excluded Chicken from being a FREE Topping. The young lady went and asked Management who she referred to as B.J. and came back and said "that do to the cost of Chicken they had to charge us the $3.20 plus tax." Her eyes began watering up and I said it's not your fought. We purchased the Pizza and other items but felt it was unfair. We could have a large family or represent several organizations that literally order lots of Pizza year after year. A decision such as this makes us wonder. Btw, the Manager never came out to explain that decision. Again, this story is being shared to help others that purchase from Coupons and in NO represents our opinion on their food.

Stopped in today around 4:30pm, was fairly busy, ordered online and had a slight wait, no big deal. The girls working at the front were super friendly, helpful and welcoming. One of the girls was on the phone with a horrendous customer, screaming at her, about a pizza not being ""perfect"" and about the weight of cheese. As a person who has worked at a pizza place, I had nothing but sympathy for her. The other girl had to deal with an extremely rude lady carrying her toddler yelling about how "everyone is waiting for food, no one needs help" when she said "I can help the next person". Customers can be so entitled and disgustingly rude, it's a business and most places are severely short staffed in general, learn some proper manners. The pizza was amazing. I ordered a Gluten Free Spicy Southwestern pizza and I didn't get sick! I have a severely sensitive immune system and have Celiac disease so I get sick very easily from cross contamination. I forgot to add "gluten allergy" on my order to be extra cautious but they handled it really well. My husband ordered the Hot Wings pizza and loved it.

It pains me to give one of the best pizza joints in the valley a 3 star review. The Hawaiian pizza has been a mainstay in our family for over 30 years. Always the perfect blend of bread, sauce and toppings. The pie always had the 1" extra fluffy edge of bread that was great, but now it's pushing 3 inches of cost cutting dough. I get food costs are a huge issue but eliminating the sauce on the wings just pushes you away from ordering again, especially with the $5 upcharge. You can't make up profit lost by inflation when losing revenue from your regulars. The value is no longer part of the equation so please go back to making a great pizza that isn't mainly bread. Cut some costs with your boxes and packaging and give back the cheese and toppings ratio.
