Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Phoenix

After moving to the area, I was happy to find a Chipotle near by. It wasn't busy, just opened for the day. I ordered my favorite and sat down to eat.

1. my meal, after sitting for less than 2 minutes was already cold. Since they had just opened for the day, you'd think the meat would be piping hot.
2. as I was eating, I got about 5-6 bites in and ate a REALLY cool piece of steak. Thinking maybe it was cold from being under the Pico, I kept eating. A few bites later, I saw a piece in my bowl that was rare. Now, I enjoy a good medium steak but this was still gummy... I took the entire bowl up to the counter and explained. They immediately made me a new one.
3. I admit that I had eaten some of the bowl, but the amount in the new was a joke. And then, the repeat of the same problem.

Chipotle, you need to keep a better eye on your meat temps. This could be a completely different outcome if this had been chicken! And there should be a universal measuring to your ingredients. First off I’m not one to complain but this has happened over an over at this place and the staff needs better trained team members. From the get home they ask if I wanted my food for here or to go... the packed it up to go when I asked for dine in. The girl making the burrito was sloppy, didn’t drain the pico and the salsa she just dropped in the middle instead of distributing it accordingly.. the guac she made for me on the side was messy and gross and the packaging of my burrito was sloppy and opens. The guy touching the money and register also touch the burrito with his unsanitary hands.. I love chipotle it this is unacceptable. I also asked for lemon with my water cause I like it when I eat my burrito, the manager didn’t even seem to care at all, she just brushed it off. I will not recommend this location to anyone. "Mexican grill" with Chipotle in the title... no hint of Chipotle peppers anywhere in the food. Hadn't been into chipotle in about 5 years so was curious to try it. It's not really Mexican food it's Americanized Mexican food or white people burritos done reasonably well. I got a burrito with carnitas, white rice, Pico de Gallo, sour cream and guac. Do yourself a favor and go hard here and get the guac because everything else is kind of bland... it was all bland. The red salsa did have a bit of flavor. The cold ingredients made the burrito cold. Only the meat was warm. Not a good mixture or warmed to temp ingredients melting together but a clash of cold and warm ingredients. The only thing keeping this from a 2 star place is its clean, well run chain kind of place.

They did have hot sauce available in the form of tabasco(lol) red and green. The sleek post modern dining room lacked any hint of Latino decoration or music. Good on them for not doing cultural appropriation. Besides that it will probably be another 5 years til I go to...
