I've eaten here 3 or 4 times in the past few months after finding them right after the new year. Never again. Not after today's experience. Today we decided to place a 'to go' order so I Googled the restaurant and clicked 'Order Online' under the sidebar that came up for the restaurant. I found my couple of menu items, selected 'for pickup' and paid. A few minutes later I drove the couple of miles over to the store. While waiting my turn in line I noticed that the prices were about 20% cheaper in the store than what I'd paid and I mentioned as much to the cashier. I even recreated my experience on my phone and showed her the online prices. She went and got the manager. He proceeded to tell me that the higher prices were Postmates' fault. I told him I hadn't used Postmates and, once again, walked him through the ordering process on my phone and showed him the 20% higher prices. He made zero effort to even sympathize let alone offer to refund the difference or offset the difference somehow. Instead, I should have paid better attention to how I was ordering.
So, Mr. Manager of Olives Mediterranean Grill, here's what your lack of customer service has cost you: a regular customer who came in every few weeks and dropped $30-50 and would have continued to do so. That's $4-500 of revenue you won't see this year. Congratulations on standing your ground and proving to your customer that it was...
Read moreOne of my favorite family-owned restaurants in the Paradise Valley area. Olives serves fresh, homemade, flavorful Greek dishes with a friendly smile and a willingness to address all your dietary needs. I am recently vegan and went in here two weeks ago, and was so thankful I did! Jessy the owner was so wonderful, helpful, and informed me that they could very easily do the vegetarian plate vegan by substituting more tahini for tzaziki. Let me tell you--the food is amazing here! I have actually been to Greece (the island of Santorini for ten days) and this food was reminiscent of the fresh tomatoes/produce, salad dressings, hummus (I enjoyed the baba ghanoush and artichoke olive flavors--delicious!), and more that I ate in the small cafes along the Grecian coast. My boyfriend enjoyed a Greek salad with gyro meat and an order of dolmas and said that it was all very delicious, tasty, and fresh. He described Olives as having a very friendly staff and great ambience. Lastly, I asked about the freshly made baklava and the owner, Jessy, told me that they make everything in-house daily (their baklava is veganl!). I can tell that she and every other employee at Olives takes great pride in the fresh food served at their establishment and can't wait be back to enjoy the baklava, salads,...
Read moreWhen I go I always get the Zuppa Tuscana soup. This time I was very disappointed in the soup and service. Soup - It's a creamy, meaty with lots of potatoes. Yum yum! This time it was brothy and virtually no potatoes. Service- I asked the server (Alec) about the soup being this way today. He made up the stupidest excuse.... "its almost gone so that is why its like that". I know for a fact that is not why it was brothy. Even at the bottom it is still creamy. Then on my 3rd bowl he told me that he doesn't know if there is any left and walked away.We got there withing 20 minutes of opening so I know that it wasn't almost gone. There was hardly no one there. Then, when I was done with my bowl I would sit there 10 minutes before he would come to us and I would ask for another bowl. Each time he would leave my bowl there. So at the end there were 3 bowls sitting near the edge.i found home to be rude and and wanting to shame me for having 3 bowls of soup. That's all I had!! If I go back I will never sit on his section and make sure the soup is made correctly before ordering it and...
