Good place, Good food. Great ambiance, Great staff. Horrible parking.
I was disappointed though because of the standard of my upbringing.
I live 30 minutes away and it is not convenient for me considering there are so many delicious Mexican restaurants around me. But had to try this place for the fresh tortillas and bakery. I spent my childhood and my college years in El Paso, Texas. I so looked forward to going to Juarez, Mexico marketplaces, restaurants and tortillerias. I love and miss so many of the El Paso restaurants as well. Hoping Cocina Adamex was the place for me. Its parking lot is a nightmare. The spots are too tight, cars are parked where they should be a way to drive thru so you could get stuck in the way trying to find a spot. After decompressing from the parking situation. I was struck with how it felt like a beautiful marketplace. Everything was clean, neat and wonderfully decorative. It is small but had great ambience and was bursting with customers. There was a line for the small bakery so I decided to get food. No tortillas - one of the main reasons I wanted to go. I was hoping for the typical taco and enchilada combo option. There wasnt anything like that and it was hard for me to decide what to try. I ordered two shredded beef taco combo plate and a red ground beef enchilada. Then I went to bakery and there was a lot empty, So I chose empanadas, cinnamon cookies and the one wedding cookie.
I got home thinking the food will not be warm but the flavors will still be there. But unfortunately all the rich savory, spicy flavors I missed were not there. It was no offending. Everything tasted good. The consistency was all good despite the 30 minute trip home. So for me it was disappointing, I am used to flavors and heat in my sauces. It's a great place to meet, staff is wonderful, could be more friendly but still very pleasant. Only complaint is I gave my order and the response was it was a hour wait as if to discourage me. When I said I was willing to wait, I was asked my order again. Since my order wasn't heard the first time I felt like they anticipated that I would leave and my order did not matter. But the rest of the experience was good, so hope they weren't...
Read moreMy husband and I went for the first time to have breakfast October 8th 2023. The parking was horrible very congested and not enough parking spaces due to very small designated area.
The atmosphere was great, love the music variety. The line to order was very long and only one cashier to take the orders. Perhaps it would be best if they have actual menus at tables so that a server can take order at the table and another designated area for orders to go.
I was disappointed that I could not order the GIANT CONCHA as we didn't know it had to be ordered a day before. However, I decided to go to the bakery side and ask the guys if anybody had canceled any orders as I would be interested in buying the Concha and good thing I did because I got one. YAAAAYYY!!!
Since they serve both breakfast and lunch We ordered the combo number two and a side a la carte three-headed beef tacos and for myself I ordered the chilaquiles con huevo y frijoles topped with shredded beef. My husband was a little disappointed with the enchilada sauce as it was very bland and the enchiladas were kind of dry and lacking sauce aside from the cheese not melted. The shredded beef had an amazing taste but the corn shells were like the ones you buy at the store OLD EL PASO or Taco Bell shell type. Would have preferred for the tacos to be deep fried for an authentic Mexican taste. My chilaquiles had very little sauce and lacked flavor for the amount of crispy tortillas. It was still tasty but what helped was that I had shredded beef on top and the juices helped give it flavor.
The GIANT COFFEE CUP was very tasty and definitely could easily serve 10 people. We shared our coffee with people 2 tables that were sitting next to us.
It was the pleasant experience overall and definitely need to go early to buy the homemade flour tortillas and be able to get a table and most definitely bring your appetite and be able to enjoy the giant concha giant cup of coffee or hot chocolate. We will definitely be trying the hot chocolate as it gets cooler in the...
Read moreI first heard about Cocina Adamex through TikTok, and the rave reviews had me eager to experience it for myself. I visited on a Sunday around 12:30 PM, drawn by the promise of authentic flavors and a lively atmosphere. One of the first things I noticed—and loved—was the fresh flour tortillas, sold by the dozen. Their warm, hand-made aroma filled the space, and it seemed I wasn’t alone in my enthusiasm; many patrons were buying them as well.
The bakery inside the restaurant was another charming feature, offering giant-sized conchas that looked as delightful as they were oversized. Adding to the ambiance was the live music, which added a festive layer to the dining experience.
For my meal, I ordered the chorizo and eggs, but found myself disappointed. Rather than a true chorizo mix, the eggs seemed to be blended with spices to approximate the flavor, leaving me longing for the real thing. My friend chose the cheese enchiladas, but both our dishes arrived lukewarm, with the cheese in the enchiladas barely melted—a detail that detracted from the full experience.
On a positive note, the coffee was pleasantly robust, delivering a warm, satisfying counterpoint to the otherwise tepid meal. However, customer service was surprisingly underwhelming. No friendly smiles or welcoming gestures greeted us, and when I approached the bakery counter on my way out, the cashier seemed inconvenienced to put down her phone, merely instructing me to “insert your card” without sharing the total.
Perhaps my expectations had been elevated by the vibrant video I’d seen online, which painted a picture of inviting warmth and flavor. While the atmosphere and concept have great potential, my experience fell short, leaving me hoping for a more polished service and culinary refinement in...
