Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Phoenix

This was my WORST experience at any Einstein Bagels. On Mother's Day, no less.

I ordered online and drove to pick it up. I walked in to the order pickup area and saw a small bag looking to contain only 1 sandwich, so I assumed that it wasn't our order because I'd ordered 6 items. I waited for the male cashier who went to the same area bringing back the small bag. I asked, "Is this everything?" He replied, "Yes." Not convinced, I opened the bag to find 2 flat sandwiches and nothing more. I then asked, "Where are my sides? I should have 2 Blueberry Muffins & 2 Hashbrowns." He takes the bag and says something to the female manager wearing a mask who turns and glares at me with an obvious attitude by the way that she literally threw someone else's sandwich in the microwave. I don't know if she was pissed to be there on Mother's Day, or upset by something else. But, I did nothing wrong by politely asking for the items that I paid for!

Anyway, the cashier returns and hands my bag over without so much as an apology. I said, "Thank you, but please tell your manager that I said that you guys need to get better organized to make sure that customers get their orders correctly. I'd have been rather upset if I'd have driven all of the way home without my full order." Again, no apology; just a blank stare with a dismissive expression. So, I left intent upon placing this review. Which must also include the fact that both hashbrowns were burnt on one side.

All-in-all, this experience wasn't worth the $29.19 spent for my Mother's Day brunch. I definitely didn't feel welcomed or valued as a customer. I absolutely would NOT recommend the 40th & Thunderbird...

2ND VISIT UPDATE:

I just had another great experience at Einstein's after my excellent visit last year. Manager Rich was doing a superb job running this location. Service by Makayla and Ramsey was A+...fast, professional and courteous.

I ate a delicious country breakfast bagel loaded with fresh cracked eggs, ham & bacon(so homey it felt like I was in Walton's episode).

I also got a 6 bagel variety pack of my favorite flavors with a tub of onion chive cream cheese.

To top all that off, I also dove into a yummy cinnamon roll with apple juice.

This combined with a gorgeous view of the Arizona desert mountains on a sunny day reminds me of that saying "Does it get any better than this?"

Not really.

Highly recommended.

Einsteins at a great location on Thunderbird just a block east of the 40th st. intersection.

I read some bad reviews but I always base my opinions on personal experience. When I walked in, it was very busy. There is a new Manager, Cedric, who was doing a great job with crew Natalie. He recommended their Texas Brisket with egg cheddar. I had that which was super delicious with a healthy, tasty apple juice and choc. chip cookie which was better than at most cookie stores.

I also got my usual bag of yummy, fresh bagels with onion chive spread.

Service was fast even though it was busy. Apparently, the new GM Cedric, is improving this location fast because I really enjoyed my visit and rank Einsteins 3 for 3 locations for the big 5 star!

Bad service and didn't seem to care. When they were about to hand me my order the cashier noticed it was incorrect (the order was simple two toasted bagels with a smear - they forgot the smear) no problem I'll go fill the coffee cup while you get it fixed, I come back I'm waiting 5 minutes I ask if my order is ready the cashier no longer insight they look around can't find it and they go back to working on another order.. I think they are working on mine but no I ask again and they tell me I have to wait my turn. I said excuse me you messed up my order, i already waited my turn. Finally the cashier comes back and I said I thought you were getting my order corrected. She just stares. I've been waiting the two people who ordered after me have received their food and left. That's all the customers that were in line. Not busy but this Bigger order that came through the app. I saw when the orders printed which was after I waited. They actually turned their backs on me again. Never apologized. At this point I asked for refund. Left the coffee on the counter.. no apology, no trying to fix what they messed, well I guess I won't be back. And yes I've used them a lot I rotate between a...
