Whenever I’m craving authentic Mexican food, this family-owned gem never disappoints. I’ve been coming here for years, and it always hits the spot. The food is flavorful, portions are generous, and you can taste the love in every bite. Their green chili burrito, enchilada style with rice and beans, is my go-to comfort dish—pure perfection. The carne asada fries are loaded and packed with flavor, and their chips with salsa are fresh and satisfying. Everything is made with care, just like home cooking. They offer great weekly specials for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the atmosphere is very family-oriented. Seating is limited outside, so I typically call ahead, pick up, and enjoy it at home. Super convenient and always consistent. Don’t forget to check out the menu, I’ve added it to this review for anyone curious. Highly recommend supporting this spot. Local, authentic, and delicious!

There's nothing better than some El Norteno. End been coming here for over 25yrs & I tell everyone about it. Aside from personal preference on green sauce or red sauce, you really can't go wrong. The Fresca lemonada, Jamaica juice, but their Horchatta is the best I've tasted. It doesn't have cinnamon flakes, it's not chalky & it's really light on the pallet. Oh, don't forget the red sauce, it goes with any dish. Nestled in the heart of Roosevelt Row where it's been since its opening. You can easily miss it but if you know you know & most locals know.

We have visited This Place several times and we live in Avondale. However the time before last they had a lot of gravy in them and a very little meat so we called ahead to make sure that these burritos wouldn't be messed up. The lady informed us that she would put extra meat in our burritos. By the time we got home or tortillas were so soggy because the burritos were all gravy. I called back and ask them if this was a joke? Because we just got off the phone with them and they said they would fix and make it right. The lady we spoke to one we called back to tell them that these burritos were messed up was extremely rude. She acted like she was so shocked that there was no meat in these gravy burritos. Like come on this has happened before and we called you out on it but we gave you a second chance. However you have just lost customers. And good customers at that. Also when calling back to let them know that these burritos were even worse than the first order, the ladies acted like it was no big deal that they have lost good customers. This used to be the spot for good food however they have really gone downhill. Even today when we showed up the parking lot was empty I guess that says enough for itself right...

I got a chorizo & egg breakfast burrito. It only comes with chorizo and eggs so I added potato and cheese. Ended up costing over $10. Burrito came out dry. Tortilla so dry that it was cracking in multiple parts of the burrito and I could barely hold it like a burrito. There was barely any cheese, even though the cheese was an extra $1.50. Also, the burrito was super spicy, even though I didn’t ask for extra spice. so I asked for sour cream which they charged me an extra $1.25. Totaling $11.50 Also, I spent 10 minutes driving down the street to the ATM to grab cash cause they only take cash and then realized they have an ATM. Lots of work and money for a burrito that was not that great. There’s a coffee shop down the street called Lola that literally makes the best burritos ever! At the same price and there’s a lot more to them & super cheesy and delicious. The only problem is their kitchen closes at 11am. That’s why I came here. I was super interested with their star rating and very shocked when I got a super dry burrito. Lady was really nice. Might try again. Definitely won’t get a breakfast...

Food: 5 stars Customer Service: not acceptable (0)

I went today ~5pm to pick up dinner. It was busy and there was a short line but it moved quickly like always. I placed my order and handed the cashier my money. My $10 bill was folded in half between my fingers and without looking down the cashier said, “we don’t take card”.

After seeing that it was actual paper currency I was holding, this person then inspected my $10 bill and told me it was counterfeit on the basis that their marker pen “didn’t make a mark on the bill”; even though it obviously did (I’m not visually impaired). No joke: I withdrew money from Wells Fargo downtown for the sole purpose of buying food from this place. Rather than asking if I had anything else, the cashier argued with me and insisted my money was fake and wouldn’t accept my order until I returned with new bills. I left and bought food from a more friendly take-out restaurant.

Excellent food on the cheap but don’t expect...
