– Paradise Valley Location
I had a very upsetting experience at this location yesterday evening. I’ve been a loyal Flower Child customer for 8 years, and this was only my third visit to the Paradise Valley location — but sadly, it may be my last.
I placed my order in person and was told it would be about 10 minutes, so I walked over to Whole Foods while I waited. When I returned, I approached one of the women working at the front to check on my food. Without checking or offering help, she pointed toward the online order shelf and said, “It’s over there.”
My food — a single bowl — was just sitting on the shelf, not in a bag, with no utensils or napkins. I didn’t see it right away, and when I asked again, she responded rudely and condescendingly, saying “what?” multiple times, rolling her eyes, and showing clear annoyance.
What made it worse — and painful — was witnessing how the guest behind me, who was white, was greeted warmly and respectfully, while I, a Black woman, was spoken to with visible disrespect and zero courtesy. It left me wondering why I was treated so differently.
I left with my food but no bag, no utensils, and a terrible feeling in my chest. I’ve loved Flower Child for years because of the quality and vibe — but this experience felt personal, and not in a good way. I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously and followed up on. Read moreI ordered food for pickup today but then received an email stating that the kitchen may not have gotten my order. The email came to me just as I was pulling in to pick up my food. I went inside to find a large staff count of nearly 10 kids working (chatting with each other) by the register. And associate had to interrupt them to ask one of them to help me. I proceeded to tell the employee what happened and showed him the email. He looks at the system and says they don't have my order.....without apologizing.
I asked how long it would take to get the exact order made right now. He stated 10 minutes, so I said I could do that. My order only had one adjustment, extra pablano crema sauce.
After 20 minutes passed and I hadn't gotten my order, I walk up to the 10 worker kids standing around not working and asked for the status of my order to find it had been sitting there ready! Yet, nobody could bother to inform me that it was ready. I was flabbergasted.
I get home to find no utensils, no napkins, and the extra crema sauce was SO much that it was like a soup!!!
I've eaten at other locations numerous times with stupendous service and food, but this experience was one of the worst I've had. I will not be going back to this location ever again!!! You really wrecked it for a...

Because of my work schedule and my dislike of cooking, I purchase the family size portions, especially the chicken, which lasts 2-3 days, depending on how much I lifted at the gym. 🐔 I know some of you are wondering why I don't go to the grocery and buy a rotisserie, but honestly it doesn't taste as good as Flower Child. Why don't I learn how to cook? It's not worth my time and energy when I can rely on professionals. Isn't it expensive?
