Whataburger — Restaurant in Phoenix

Before I came here, I read the reviews for this location and was surprised to find a new Whataburger with only a 3/5 stars. I didn't know this location was being built until it was finish and I was hesitant to try it due to the reviews but man... I'm glad I tried it anyways. I ordered a green Chile double with extra chilies (since one review showed they only got like 5 pieces of green Chile on their burger), lettuce, tomato, ketchup and the grilled veggies and wooooo, easily one of the best burgers I've ever had from a Whataburger! I didn't get home until 15 minutes after picking it up and it's still warm and, my God, the flavors definitely got absorbed into the buns. I realiZe this sort of sounds like a paid review but I promise you, this Whataburger is good. The employees where arguing about their breaks at the window and it took a few minutes longer than I expected but it was worth it for the burger. I'm so glad this location was built. It's about the same distance as the one on Bell for me but this one is much easier to get into and the parking lot isn't a God damn train wreck. Thank you for opening up this location and I hope you guys stick around, unlike every other fast food place that has posted shop in that building. Clearly you guys have been reading reviews and improving and you have a loyal customer right here! I'm only giving 4 stars because I only got a burger with add ons and it was basically $9. That's expensive as hell for a burger but it was Soo worth it after getting off work. If you are willing to splurge on something really good, it's worth it. If you are broke or want something less expensive but still really really really good, get In and Out across the street. You can get a similar burger for much less... But the burger I got tonight reigns supreme and was Soo good I felt like I needed to leave a review and bump up...

CORPORATE I HOPE YOU READ THIS I haven't dined here for quite a while and I can't fathom what I've seen here. My last meal here was with my family on October 13th last year. During our visit we witnessed one of your employees walk out when it was busy to apparently go smoke some dope. When the employee apparently named Xavier came back into the store there was a strong dope smell that preceded to fill the lobby coming from the kitchen area. Manager Charles attempted to fix situation by having him clock out yet the employee and the other managers started yelling at Charles. Right after he left the rest of the employees there started laughing saying we finally got him. And as I am looking for a game for my child at GameStop across the street I came across a former employee of Whataburger. I mentioned seeing him at Whataburger and he starts telling me how he was fired. Store Manager Stephanie Smith let me ask you, how much evil do you have in your heart to do to someone who's going thru such a rough life that they are feeling suicidal because of how your treating them and they are vocal about it so you fire them based off that? Then you text him saying noone wants to work with him. Did you want him to kill himself? There is something seriously wrong with the remaining management here and there should be new management at this location asap. Lately I drive by here on my way home from work and see the managers and employees outside smoking dope and vaping almost every night now. I CAN'T IN GOOD CONSCIENCE DINE HERE KNOWING THE TOXIC NATURE OF THE STORE MANAGER OR KNOWING THAT MY FOOD IS BEING PREPARED...

I love Whataburger for the Chocolate shakes. Burgers are good too. However on this visit I'd have to say Whatadisaster. 10 mins in drive thru with no movement in the line. 10 more minutes in lobby waiting to have order taken while the only cashier for the lobby was running around chasing fantom orders for folks served and done. Then they give my order to someone else. 30 minutes after arriving in the parking lot I noticed the car I was originally behind in drive thru still one car back from the pickup window. If they can't get their act together, I'm going to have to find a new source for chocolate shakes.

Update: Even worse experience on next visit. They hand me my food and then tell me 10 mins wait for the shake. They wanted me to choose something else. I didn't want something else, so I asked to refund the shake. They refused! Mind you, this entire time my food is getting cold. I'm done with Whataburger for good. Staff not aware that hot food should be handed out only when the entire order is ready and refusing to refund for a product they can't deliver are too far for me to continue to be...
