Read moreYou know that phrase - "If it's too loud, you're too old"? I guess that's me. This place is too loud. It is definitely geared toward a younger and hipper crowd, not a crowd with new hips.
There was a live DJ inside blasting music, which made this an absolutely awful place to try and have a conversation. I recommend coming here with a group you have no intention of speaking to, and preferably without a hangover - otherwise the environment will not be your friend.
We managed to get a seat outside which was a bit warm, but quiet enough to talk to each other. The food offerings were innovative, I'll give them that, but again seemed oriented toward the college aged crew.
I tried the Hangover Shortrib Hash. The name alone is interesting to me based on the volume of the music inside. I can't imagine coming here in that condition. It came with a small piece of shortrib, which was just enough to whet your appetite and was served over a sweetish piece of bread, which offset the flavors involved.
The Shrimp and Grits Hash also seemed to be somewhat odd regarding the flavors, being less flavorful or spicy than we are accustomed to. The cold brew coffee was good, but too small to enjoy for long.
Just a word of warning, if you order the Effin' Huge English Muffin, they're not kidding. This thing comes out looking like two swollen dinner plates stuffed with ham, eggs, cheese and hollandaise sauce. It's enough for two people or two meals, whichever works best for you.
My final words are in regards to dining outside here. The Phoenix area heat is a factor, but if you don't mind that, there's another strange thing. We would get the occasional wafts of odor reminiscent of a septic system overflowing. That, combined with the other items definitely adds up to an unpleasant experience. ...
Read moreSo me and my family of 10 called and made reservations here. They told us it would be about a 35-45 min wait and they got our phone info over the phone, and said we would receive a text message when table is ready. So upon arrival, we waited in the sprinter because we never received a text yet. We got out to wait in line because we felt like 45mins have passed. So we got in line to wait because the day manager was calling names for who was next outside. (Tall white guy with slick back hair). We waited for about 15 until we asked about how much longer we needed to wait. His response was we texted you guys about 50mins ago that your table was ready. We're from out of town and our Airbnb is only 6mins away, so unless he has some type of super powers no one knows about he of just lied in our face because we never got a text message. On top of that he his attitude was very nonchalant about the situation as if we didn't matter. We noticed how his attitude was a bit different with another person of different race 👀. Not trying to assume anything but as we were heading out we noticed another black group of people leaving after they was there for about 5mins. I'm not saying it was racism involved but the pattern doesn't look good at all. I've never been treated like this at an establishment so im kinda discussed in a way. I hope they can be more diverse in the way people are being treated so no one have to feel this way. Thanks...
