Read the 5 Star and 1 Star Reviews....THEY ARE BOTH ACCURATE. I've been here roughly 10 times throughout the last 4-5 years and I can tell you very little is different between the past and present.
For the 5 Star Reviews, the Attic absolutely has 1 of the best made burgers in all of Arizona. Only was overshadowed by the 'now closed' restaurant "The Grind AZ" which without a doubt had the #1 burger. Nonetheless, The Attic does an admirable job with all their food, though most notable for burgers. THIS IS FACT.
For the 1 Star Reviews: Poor Service, Extremely Slow for both receiving food and drinks. THIS HAS NEVER CHANGED THROUGHOUT THE LAST 4-5 years. Each time I've been here between being seated and receiving 1st drink is a minimum of 20 minutes. To receive a basic order of a Burger average minimum time is around 40 minutes. When you're getting a Med. Burger its maybe 5min per side at most. 40 min is ridiculous. I've frequently been ignored by each server I've had, forcing me to have to wave them over or get up and walk over to a different server asking to take my order.
Unfortunately despite management's relentless statements like "we've talked to our staff and this was corrected." I wish that were true. They had major problems with staff, management, and ownership around 3-4 years ago like 2015-2016, told everyone that it was corrected and yet nothing actually changed.
Prices are extremely inflated for a burger (which is why I go so infrequently) and they have charged me more than the stated price multiple times. The menu has said 1 price and then I get the bill and its $1 or $2 more. I ask the waiter about the discrepancy and I'm told that their prices increased. WELL WHY DID YOU GIVE ME A MENU WITH FAKE PRICING?? THIS IS JUST MISLEADING AND A POOR WAY TO DO BUSINESS AND TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS.
I CAN HONESTLY SAY, EVERYTIME I GO BACK, IT'S IN HOPE THAT IT HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER, BUT NEVER ACTUALLY DOES, DESPITE PROMISES. THOUGH THEY DO HAVE CONSISTENTLY AMAZING FOOD WHICH IS...
Read moreI had a birthday party here on December 4th, with maybe 15-20 people total. For a party of that size, service was awesome and the food was awesome. Fast forward to last Wednesday, February 17th ... I didn't recognize any of our usual favorite waitresses or waiters, who treated patrons like close friends on every visit. Service was adequate at best, since our waiter lacked a personality or sincerity. (Not a quality I'd knock normally so long as I get what I order delivered to my table in a reasonable amount of time, but when you're used to consistent hospitality and good humored staff, this kind of thing is quite noticeable.) The food is, of course, the kicker though: My usual Ivan was bland and tasted unseasoned and was undercooked. Which wasn't an isolated event, since my friend's medium rare burger came out RAW. When he flagged down the waiter and showed him the raw dissected patty, all the waiter managed to say - through feigned concern - was that he could take it off the bill. We paid for our drinks and left, completely disheartened.
The best part is, I got to miss the following two days of work due to FOOD POISONING. I've never had that before, didn't even know what it was until I discussed my symptoms with a doctor at my place of business today. Even now I'm still feeling on and off queasy. Again: Disheartening and downright appalling for a place so revered and that I had recommended so fervently to friends.
I have no intention of ever returning here. If any regulars reading this can believe it, spare yourself some trouble and take your business to Delux on 32nd Street and Camelback or Stax in Old...
Read moreThis is a beautiful restaurant that looks very clean from the inside with a great beer selection, local and otherwise. The selling point is a lovely upstairs porch with a nice view out on the street with a mountainous background. My girlfriend and I came here for our 2nd time today. We had sort of slow service the first time but we were kind of in a rush and couldn’t stay to really enjoy anything but a drink and an appetizer, so we wanted to come give it another chance. When we arrived we were quickly seated outside with the view of the mountains just as we wanted. The inside was not very busy shockingly, there was a Sunday brunch going on. We were brought water about 5 minutes after sitting down and our menus were drenched from the misters within minutes. There was a great selection on the menus but we were not sure if the regular menu was available and wanted to ask. After about 15 minutes of no help or a chance to order we had finished the bottle of water they had given us. We were only asked if “that bald guy” had come out and talked to us. We eventually decided to leave. Despite the beautiful view we were looking at, despite the great smelling food inside, despite the great beer list, and despite the polite and helpful hostess. We are now at The Vig, still thirsty, even more hungry, and with a damper on a very beautiful Sunday that we have week looking forward to all...
