The wife and I have been going through the drive through for years. On occasion we will sit in the restaurant. It's fast food fish. Well not so fast, from the time we ordered to the time we had our fish the last visit took over 7 minutes, with nobody ahead of us.
This location sometimes is really cheap on french fries as well as the pouches of vinegar, ketchup and tartar sauce at the drive through. This last visit on Sept. 25th, 2016 we didn't get any tartar sauce, only two packets of ketchup, and two packets of vinegar for a family meal as well as the fries being bit over half what should be in the box. That would be cheap on an individual meal let alone a full 8 piece family meal.
The last visit the fish was less salty than normal, but usually the fish is way to salty for me. The last visit was salty but tolerably so.
The neighborhood leaves a bit to be desired. It is right next to a check cashing store and we always feel like someone is going to start shooting as the drive through lane is closed off and you are at the mercy of what happens as there isn't an escape route or way to bypass if you decide not to order. (See pictures) The corner of 19th Ave and Bell has declined over the years and it is common to see people walking drunk, prostitution, and other vices.
There are not a lot of parking spaces either. There are a couple extra in the very back where the drive through lane is but if it was busy you will be stuck a long time trying to get out since in our experience the per car wait seems to stay pretty close to 7-10 minutes. Most times there are 3 or so cars waiting when we visit.
Location issues aside the food is usually what you expect from Long John Silvers and the restaurant is clean, the staff are courteous and outside the over use of salt and the drive through portion issues we are happy...
Read moreThe food was fresh and tasty, with the exception of the mac n cheese. It was NOT fresh, and looked like the horrible gloop of stuff you get at a poorly rated buffet. Definitely not creamy, like the giant photo they had of it, showed. The girl that took my order was not unfriendly, but not what I would call friendly either. Blah would be a good word. The gentleman working the drive-thru was super nice. I think he was maybe management. My biggest complaint has to be the huge increase in their prices from the last time I went. $35 for 2 fish and shrimp platters, one small soda, and a tiny piece of strawberry cheesecake? Everything is in bulk, frozen, and deep fried for goodness sakes! Pollock is not an expensive fish. And they upcharge EVERY LITTLE THING! I get inflation, but geez...a bit ridiculous of you ask me! I could have gone to a nice steakhouse for slightly more than that.... But as it were, the fish was very crispy and so were the fries. The coleslaw was very good, and the hushpuppies delicious. So if you are in the mood for some good fried fish and can stomach the prices, then this is the...

MY UPDATED REVIEW - MANAGER RESOLVED! Redemption by any other name is never the same and particularly when the Manager of this establishment is as exceptional as TJ, the epitome of a Manager Extraordinaire!
He came through for this restaurant, redeemed them and turned an otherwise horrid experience into something spectacular! I was both surprised and elated when he reached out directly as I have remarked about his tireless dedication to outstanding service, endearing and personal touch over the years!
Also a huge shout out to Mary who was just a dear, gracious and professional. Her smile said it all and the food was prepared to perfection and enjoyed! In fact more than enjoyed but overjoyed that the time, the thoughtfulness and the kindness is very much appreciated by myself and Sadie. You guys rock and I am elated to leave this review! Thank you...
