I moved to PHX 7 years ago from Buffalo NY. I have been searching high and low throughout the valley for some decent wings (note: they're called "wings", not "Buffalo wings", not "chicken wings") I've tried all the chain and even many local offerings from people who swear that they're the best. Yesterday, I cried. Yesterday I wandered into Long Wongs expecting yet another disappointment (I'm used to it being a Bills fan) and ordered a dozen hot wings and sat down. When the wings were brought out to me my nose did a double take. The familiar scent of home danced in my nostrils. I took a bite and was instantly transported 2000+ miles and I was sitting in a dive bar (the best place to get wings seems always at a dive bar in Buffalo). The wings were cooked correctly and not rubbery or baked and had almost a crispness to them which a sign of a good wing. And the sauce... now usually you order hot wings outside of Buffalo and you get some whiny spot of heat of something we would ceed a 2 year old; this sauce BROUGHT IT! I was in pure ecstasy as I dunked wing after wing in delicious blue cheese (ranch? don't make me lose respect for you) and devoured them. I was happy that I skipped the suicidals, as I havent had a true suicidal wing in a looooong time (I'm almost 50 now but in your teens in Buffalo you "cut your teeth" so to speak on super spicy suicidal wings, like who's the toughest.) I am not afraid to say that I cried. I did. I had to wipe literal tears from my eyes, as the mixture of heat and the nostalgia of home danced around my mind and senses. I can say this with complete honesty- My searching is over! From someone who loves Buffalo and loves wings, I have found the best wings in all of Arizona, for they are...
Read moreFirst of all I want to say that I use to go to Long Wongs all the time at the Chandler location off of AZ Ave and love the food, so when I moved to Laveen and saw there was a location here, I couldn't wait to try it. Tonight we ordered a large 16' pizza and 12 wings (6 medium and 6 garlic Parmesan) and spent $37. I went and picked it up, the location seemed clean and kept up well and the service was great. Very nice people and very respectful. As far as the food goes, honestly, I would love my money back and I honestly think that Peter Piper Pizza or a frozen pizza from the grocery store would have been a better choice. The garlic Parmesan wings were horrible, had 1 and tossed the rest, the medium wings were good, I liked the sauce, but the wings have barely any meat on them (they are smaller wings) If it wasn't for the sauce I would have tossed those as well. Let's talk about the pizza. When I got home and opened the box, it looked like a small 12' pizza in a large box, even though I ordered a 16' pizza. The first thing my wife said when she looked at it was, that pizza looks like card board. Even though it didn't look good, I decided I would try it. The pizza had no flavor what so ever. The sauce tasted like the pizza I used to get at elementary school from the school cafeteria. The pepperonis are the smaller ones that shrivel up when cooking and the crust was bland and hard and yes it looked and tasted like card board. Trying to be as nice as possible, the pizza sucked, I had 1 slice and ate half of it, my kids and wife wouldn't even touch it. We ended up tossing the food and ordered food from some where else. I will not be going back to this location and it is a shame, because I was very excited to try it and the food...
Read moreThis place has poor management skills , I asked to gave a value meal combo which includes (eight wing ( bone-in or boneless ) , French fries , & a drink ) . This young lady right off the bat took my order and gave me such a hard time . I asked for mild wing sauce and she replied “ it’s just butter ! “ . I asked her “ what is just butter ? “ and she replied “ you don’t know what butter is ? “ and made a really awful face . Again I said “ I would have a mild/medium boneless wings combo “ then she replied “ you total is 8.75 , cash or card ? “ . Afterward I tell her her soda machine was running low and she rolls her eyes at me and tells me to “ hold up “ . I had to walk out of this place and wait outside till my food was done . I went to pick up my food shortly and I asked her “ excuse me ? Are there boneless wings ? “ & you wouldn’t believe what she said .! As I repeat “ you didn’t ask for any , if you would of ask I would of given them to you !” . I am sorry but this is no way you should treat customers ! I was upset about this situation and more after I left my friend saw me and went to ask for a manager or a number to call to report her , and she replied with “ we don’t have a manger or a number “ . Like this is insane how don you still work there after being so blatantly disrespectful and rude ! I am sorry but there is no reason someone with this attitude not bad customer service to work there ! I am still upset even though it just happened . More then the less the food was great but I lost my appetite after dealing with such a disgusting attitude and...
