The most delicious sandwich shop in Phoenix! While on the outside the eatery doesn't seem like much (sandwiched between a few other shops in a small strip mall), the interior is quaint and clean. As they are only open for lunch, they do get packed very quickly. Be patient, though, and you should have a wonderful meal.
My party was comprised of lacto-ovo vegetarians. We ordered the vegetable sandwich of the day, the tomato basil soup (after confirming it was safe to eat), the daily pizza (without chorizo), and a chocolate chip cookie.
The cookie, eaten before the meal as we got it at checkout, was AMAZING. One of the best cookies I've had as it was chewy, salty, and delicious. Next, we shared a cup of the soup with was easily the best tomato soup I've had! Unlike other tomato soups that taste watery, this one was fresh and flavorful and was the best part of the meal. The veggie sandwich was very good, but it was served on thin bread, not the kind that I usually purchase from them at the farmers market. A bit of a surprise, but still good. It also came with a side salad that was light and flavorful, a perfect accompaniment to my sandwich. Lastly, the pizza! While the pizza certainly could've used the spiciness of the chorizo to shine, it was easily some of the best pizza crust I've had in the area. It was charred without being burnt, it was chewy without being overbearing, and it was topped with some wonderful cheese.
While it might not be the most convenient lunch if you aren't in the area, Noble Eatery is worth your...
Read moreAfter having been here a few times for the Noble Bread alone (some of the best bread we've ever had – pretty equally rivals Ken's Artisan Bakery in Portland), we finally got around to trying some of their other fare.
With limited options (half the chalkboard's menu items were sold out by the time we had gotten there two hours before closing – which, for the record, we think is great; they're clearly not producing excess) we went with a whole grain salad and a ham sandwich. Both were good, but great might be a stretch. The quality of their grain and produce is clearly exceptional, but the preparation left something to be desired. Some very small tweaks could have made all the difference.
That said, though the folks behind Noble Bread are longtime bakers, the Eatery is a fairly new venture. The menu changing daily surely also adds its own challenges. Noble Eatery does simple food well, and we suspect that with time their dishes will grow to have the depth and complexity that their loaves already do.
Beyond that, the space is a wonderful one to be in; hovering perfectly in-between clean and cluttered. They somehow manage to make half-framed motorbike racing posters, Minion figurines and $28 jars of pistachio cream work together. Everyone behind the counter is very, very sweet. And they've got cute signage to boot.
We're happy to see another place serving seasonal and mostly organic food doing so well in Phoenix. Very...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of Noble bread and buns. I've been buying them at farmers markets for years. Today was the 1st time I stepped into their restaurant.
I only went there because I pre-ordered buns and this is the only pickup location available 5 days (Mon - Fri).
I walked in. Gentleman behind the counter did not greet me. I walked up and said I had a pre-order and my name. He handed me order. Never said a single word to me. Not "hi" or " welcome" or " thank you." Nothing.
Is it possible you have hired a mute to work your counter? I support local on purpose and like to make connections with people. I never go to robot cashiers. I felt like I just did today though here at Noble.
Place was cute. Menu wasn't very vegetarian or vegan friendly. They were also playing Guns and Roses obnoxiously loud, like party volume loud. It would not have been pleasant to eat lunch here.
I will never come here again if I can help it. The Noble staff at the Uptown Market is always friendly and personable. This guy sucked.
And now that I read through other's reviews I see the poor customer service is constant. You won't last long in the valley without treating your customers better. There's too much competition and no reason for us to continue to give good money for poor service. Teach your staff they need to check their bad attitude at the door and fake a smile if they are...
