I am shocked at the horrible experience I had at this restaurant for it being one of the top ranked on many lists. I’ve worked as a server in a fine dining restaurant for over 12 years and have never experienced such horrible service. Our server, Carter, was embarrassingly unknowledgeable about the menu. When I asked him how the Filet Mignon compares to the Filet Mignon skewers, he said “well the Filet Mignon is a piece of steak with potatoes and the skewers are small pieces of steak on a stick”. I kind of stared at him for a second dumbfounded and realized he was serious, so I ordered the full Filet Mignon. While waiting for our meal, our waters sat empty for over 15 minutes. I finally asked if he could bring over a jug of water for the table and he brought one over, set it down, and walked away. Didn’t fill any of our empty glasses. The food comes out and I received the skewers. When he came by soon after, I told him I didn’t order the skewers, but it was fine I didn’t want to wait for a new order and I would just eat the skewers. He apologized for the confusion and offered a side of potatoes. I was never asked how I wanted my steak cooked, and when the skewers came out they were very well done and chewy. The skewers were $60. I would HIGHLY suggest Outback Steakhouse over Flint for a better steak. I had barely touched the steak, did not take one bite of the potatoes, and he proceeded to charge me for not only the skewers but the potatoes as well ($10 extra). When I asked about the charge for the potatoes, I told him I thought they were an offering for messing up my order and I did not expect to be charged for them, he acted very annoyed and told me that he wanted to comp them but his manager was the one pushing him to charge me for them. He was noticeably curt with us after this interaction. I will never be returning here and will never recommend it to anyone. There are a plethora of better restaurants in the area to spend your money on. I’m not one to write reviews like this but I’m appalled at my experience that I unfortunately still ended up...
Read moreI had the pleasure of celebrating my wedding anniversary at FLINT by Baltaire, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The wood fired contemporary American cuisine was simply outstanding, with coastal Mediterranean and bold Middle Eastern flavors that elevated the dishes to new heights.
We started with the smoked bone marrow, which was perfectly paired with the salsa verde and grilled country bread. The main courses were equally impressive - the grilled fillet mignon was cooked to perfection, and the crispy Yukon gold potatoes and Baltaire steak sauce were the perfect accompaniments. The wood oven, roasted half chicken was equally delicious, with the Lebanese tomato salad, lemon, and zhoug providing a tangy and spicy flavor profile that was absolutely delectable.
The sides of grilled asparagus, with parmesan and citrus vinaigrette and roasted carrots, with honey-tahini glaze, feta, and herbs were the perfect complement to the main dishes. And the desserts were the perfect ending to an already amazing meal.
For Dessert The Burnt Basque Cheesecake with marinated berries and whipped crème fraîche, and the chocolate, sesame gnash tart with tahini caramel, halva crumbles, and vanilla gelato were simply divine.
The ambiance of the restaurant was equally impressive, with a stunning dining room and lounge featuring custom-designed mid-century modern-inspired furnishings and chandelier lighting. The signature floor-to-ceiling, foldaway glass walls leading to FLINT's year-round outdoor dining patio provided breathtaking views of Camelback Road at 24th Street.
All in all, my experience at FLINT by Baltaire was exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end dining experience with exceptional food, service,...
Read moreI literally have no idea how I have not been here before today! Talk about a hidden gem. Perfect experience from the second we walked in to the moment we left. One of the most fun meals I have had in awhile. Everything on the menu sounded so good that we just decided to sample and share. Short rib hummus was amazing!!! Full of flavor and texture. Morrocan fried chicken was perfectly crisp and uniquely seasoned...quick tip: dip in both sauces at the same time for maximum flavor. Lamb meatballs were delicious and had a nice heat to them. The charred bread they served with it was amazing. Kebabs were so so so so so good and the serving experience with the hot coals was pretty cool. We did filet, chicken, and shrimp; all differently seasoned. All delicious and cooked to perfection. The warm donuts with coffee mousse is my new favorite dessert. It's so good that I don't know if I will even be able to try something different in the future. Lex was an absolute doll at check in; total ray of sunshine. Sara was our server and was just so on point with everything. Super pleasant, fun, and gave amazing food recommendations. We will absolutely be back to try things we didn't have the chance to try today!
Update: 1/14/21 went back to try new things and was not disappointed. Lex greeted us at checking and she is just awesome! Total ray of sunshine and just great vibes. She remembered us from a couple of months ago which was super impressive. Total amazing start to the night. Lamb chops were delicious and my husband's scallops were awesome. As luck would have it, we ended up having Sara take care of us again!...totally by chance! She continued her streak of awesomeness and...
