I ordered from NYPD Pizza via Postmates. One of the items I ordered was a pepperoni. I unfortunately received a peppercini calzone.
This isn’t big deal, mistakes happen. What is a big deal though is how incredibly terrible the manager handled the situation; he refused to take any accountability and told me to take it up with Postmates.
Here’s some extras to clarify some things. The manager made it clear that he did not believe me, as if I was trying to get a free calzone or something. I did not eat the calzone and offered to hand it off to a delivery driver in exchange for my correct order. The manager looked up my order and (after me explaining to him that I’m not eating this item and will return it to a driver) acknowledged that this was indeed a mistake by NYPD, but followed this up by saying there’s absolutely nothing they can do about it because I ordered through Postmates.
Brutal customer service from your manager, he needs corrective training.
NYPD Pizza is a private sector business. This means nothing stops the company from doing the right thing if they choose to do the right thing. There’s nothing stopping a manager from owning their mistakes, which would’ve been making, baking, and delivering what I actually paid for, a pepperoni calzone. The manager CHOSE not to do this though. He chose to do the wrong thing. He is the sole reason behind this review.
Reiterating, the company employs dining staff, kitchen staff, delivery drivers and additionally managers. There’s no reason the company couldn’t have delivered the correct order to me. NOTHING WAS STOPPING THEM, except a manager that refuses to own their mistakes.
Please do not respond with the Postmate’s agreement BS. Nothing was stopping the manager from having the order re-made and delivered, end of discussion. If you don’t comprehend this, you shouldn’t work in the customer service industry, as the industry is about customer services and customer satisfaction,...
Read moreWent in tonight for my second time since I've moved here, from New York. I was told to sit down and someone would be right with me ( it was about 40 minutes until closing time). There was a misunderstanding with the servers as they were doing their closing work, they thought I was waiting for takeout, so no one greeted me or gave me a menu for maybe about 20 minutes until Christine, who I'm assuming is the manager, came over and checked in with me, apologized and took my order.
Not only did she rectify the situation, she was overall so sweet, she talked with me, and made me feel comfortable and not rushed. By time my pizza came out it was basically closing time so I told her to put it in a box to go so I wouldn't hold them up and she wouldn't let me. She said " You came here to dine out, not to bring your food home. You came for the experience that's what you'll get."
I've been in the restaurant business basically my whole life- and the way she handled that situation was top notch. I'll be honest with you, I was about two minutes from walking out of the store and not coming back. If it weren't for Christine, I would have left extremely unhappy.
Being from New York, nothing will ever really taste "like New York pizza" but so far this has come the closest. I got the vegan pizza, personal size and it was FANTASTIC. Most vegan cheeses don't melt right and most restaurants that are not primarily vegan, don't really care about getting the vegan items to perfection but I really enjoyed my pizza, and my experience.
I gave it 5 starts for Christine, and even for the food. My only feedback and constructive criticism is that all servers should be greeting EVERYONE and asking if they're being helped regardless if they're take out or not. (The server did come over and incessantly apologize and was very sweet when she realized what happened). I have more patience than most- so I'd hate to see them lose customers over...
Read moreAfter driving aimlessly for an hour looking for something to eat we could agree on we ended up at NYPD Pizza. I hate Phoenix at times because it can be a nightmare to park, but with hr parking behind the building it was just a short walk inside. We were greeted right away and drink orders taken. Our server was nothing but smiles. I really loved that. We were starving so we started with this chili wings, side salad and half order of fried zucchini. Everything was delicious. The salad was cold, crisp and full of veggies. The zucchini was cut a bit bigger than I’m used to but flavor was there. I really enjoyed the sweet and spice of the wings, but wished they’d come with some wet wipes because they were sticky. Once finished with our appetizers we added a small pepperoni, black olive and ham pizza. It came out pretty quick, perfect crispy crust and sauce had good flavor. Vibe is pretty chill and what you’d expect from most pizza spots. There’s a small tv above the bar. Decent sized eating area with booths and tables. I’d come again if in the...
