Sweet Land Cake — Restaurant in Phoenix

I just walked in on a whim of curiosity not more than fifteen minutes prior to writing this. The man working there was very friendly and answered all of my questions- I had a lot, as I've never been to Puerto Rican bakery and I wasn't even aware that this was a Puerto Rican bakery upon my visit.

I bought a coffee and some kind of pastry that I can't remember the name of. It's filled with cream cheese and has a soft, flakey crust with bits of sugar and honey coating the outside. This is the most delicious pastry I've ever had, and I'm an exceptionally finicky sweets eater- as I normally only indulge in quality chocolate. I already can't wait to go back and get another and some to share with my family! The coffee really blew my mind though. It's so smooth I drank it hot and without sugar in this 110 degree summer heat! Not even a hint of bitterness.

Since the Even Stevens filed bankruptcy I have been missing a cubano sandwich. I have found the cubano sandwich I've been looking for. Not only that but a variety of cuban coffee bags that regular chains would easily triple the price. I also ate a long puff pastry with cream cheese and some other stuff that was baked just then. the owner told me the name but I forgot because it was delicious. The pastry was warm and welcoming. I also brought a small strawberry tart the size of a silver dollar to my wife at work. Sweet land cakes is a wonderful place for me to take my family. I really appreciate that this is a wonderful addition to our community. I do rideshare and I will recommend this to all of my passengers that I can. Thank you for having me Mr. Charvest. Was looking frantically for a gender reveal cake with less than a 24 hour notice with most bakeries telling me straight up they couldn't do it. Then I finally called and went to sweet land bakery and they were able to do it for me. The owner and the lady at the counter were so helpful in making sure I was able to get something that I would be happy with the small time frame. Came in with no suggestions and they were able to give me some and help me decide on a burning reveal cake, with tres leches and buttercream icing. Not only was it delicious, the presentation was amazing and the look was great for the time frame that was given.
