I lived here from June 2019 - June 2023. If Greystar never took over I'd probably give this place 4 or 5 stars and it's only getting 2 stars because of the location. The rent on our lease renewal in 2023 was going to go up $500, about 30%.
After Greystar took over everything became a hassle. It felt like when tenants needed something we were bothering Dom, Alex and Tonya. We had bee nests on our deck in the summer of 2022. Pest control came and sprayed two of the nests, and didn't remove them. There was a third nest in the siding of our apartment beside our deck, which bees got into our apartment through the vents. They told us sorry there's nothing pest control can do.
You have to pay for parking. If you get an outside lot spot, be prepared for your spot to be taken every other weekend. The pool is always full with tenants bringing lots of friends because the pool policy is never followed.
If you are thinking of moving here, make sure you ask how many and what type of dogs are on that floor. The third floor of building two was a kennel during working hours. They do not bother contacting tenants whose dogs are constantly barking. And with that, 75% of the dogs in this building should not be allowed there according to their own lease (big breeds). These dogs also go to the bathroom in the hallways.
The owner hired Greystar to save money, which they probably did. When we moved out, the building was around 60-70% full, which should tell you something. Also, do not believe some of the 5 star reviews here they...
Read moreLove Phoenix Village. The staff and management are extremely helpful and go out of their way for their tenants. They have relationships with local businesses, and every few months will offer complimentary breakfast or lunch delivered to the apartment from local restaurants. The amenities are great here. There's a beautiful resident lounge that's always tastefully decorated for each season. It's always nice spending time in the resident lounge always meeting new neighbors...Socially Distant of course. I'm writing this review during COVID-19 restrictions. There's also a large amenity deck with three grills that can be used at anytime, and plenty of seating for private get togethers. The gym is great, and offers clean equipment with plastic barriers between machines, kettle bells, medicine balls, free weights..etc. The business center is perfect to pop down and use a computer to print 24/7 which is perfect while working from home. There's a theater room that can be used at anytime, and the pool is fantastic in the summer! The apartments are well maintained and feature modern amenities, granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. Stainless Steel appliances including a built in microwave above the stove. I haven't had any issues yet with my apartment, but if I did, maintenance is super responsive. I would recommend Phoenix Village for anyone that's looking to have the convenience of modern amenities, fantastic management, and the walkability of downtown...
Read moreWhile there are plenty of great things I can say about Phoenix Village, all of that is completely overshadowed by how terrible their leasing management is. I have moved 8 times in the last 9 years and Phoenix Village has been by far the worst process/least responsive community of all time. Even if you leave your apartment in PERFECT condition when you move out- kiss at least 50% if not more of your security deposit goodbye. They nickel and dime you for things that aren't in your control- even when you live there during the PA flood which took out your elevator and parking garage gate for MONTHS (and they did absolutely nothing about the inconvenience). If you give 90 days notice that you are moving out half a month early- they do not prorate you, heck they even charge you the day you move out $50 for that day of rent. LOL. It is an absolute joke truly. I have been fighting with them for 5 months for the security deposit total that was agreed on in writing by management and I have received two separate checks months apart, still not totaling the correct amount. The location, the status of a "luxury apartment", the pool/gym, movie theater that no one ever uses, and clubhouse are in NO way worth the headache of overpriced Phoenix Village. Read through these reviews and do NOT move here.
Big shout out to Chuck the maintenance man though, he's the only good thing about this...
