My family and I were visiting Orlando for vacation the week of March 10th - 16th, 2023. We decided to go to the Licking because of the reviews and food options. We went to the one near Millennium Mall but they were too small to accommodate our group of 18. The nice security man told us about the other location and that they were big enough to accommodate us to sit everyone together. The manager also was friendly and told us they could seat us together on the patio but not everyone wanted to sit on the patio. I called the other location and was advised it wouldn't be a problem because they had a room to sit us in but that we would have to wait about 10 -15 minutes. Well, the wait was 30 even after being told 10 - 15 minutes when we arrived. I was told they needed to clean the room and set it up for us. I stopped one of the workers to see what was taking so long. He went to check on it and then came back to get menus so he could seat us. He never said anything to me until he advised us to come on. Instead of giving us the room as previously told twice, we were crammed in a small area where we were on top of each other and literally touching each other. A few were sitting on the corner of the tables meant for 1 person. The food was Amazing. We all agreed the food was 5 stars, but everythng else was less than a 1 star.
The waiter was Rude and Disrespectful and then we had 18% gratuity added to our check. He also advised he could only split the check into 2 separate bills. We were thinking like most places that when we got to the cashier that we could pay separately. The total bill was 503.00. Luckily I had a credit card that could accommodate that full amount and I had to do the job of the restaurant to figure out how much each person owed me. The waiter's tip was 75.00 that he didn't deserve because of the service he provided. When a tip is included in the bill it is a disadvantage to the customers when the waiters and waitresses are SORRY, but it helps those that deserves it when customers are cheap. Again, the food was Absolutely Amazing and the variety was great to accommodate the preference for those that didn't eat certain things. I personally will never go back because of the service. When you pay for something you should get the service you deserve. Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that it was too late to go somewhere else with such a large group we would have just left and went...
Read moreToday, I decided to try DJ Khalid's restaurant near the Florida Mall with my husband and sister. Upon entering, no one acknowledged us even though there was staff at the counter talking amongst themselves. It took a while to be addressed, but when we were approached, the young man had his pants sagging under his buttocks, which was very unprofessional. He sat us down and walked away. Then we waited about 10 minutes before a young lady approached our table with menus and plastic utensils. She walked away and came back another 10 minutes to ask for our drink and appetizer orders. As we were telling her what we wanted, she seemed distracted, and we ended up repeating ourselves twice. She walked away, and we just sat wondering how long this would take. When she did come back with our drinks and the wing sampler plate, she gave no small plates for us to use, so we needed to ask another staff member. She finally came back for our main order. My husband ordered shrimp and grits. Why did it come out like soup? It had great and red pepper slices, and the grits were so soupy that it required a spoon. My sister ordered chicken breast dinner with rice with pigeon peas and collards and a side of candied yams. The chicken came out looking like fajitas. The rice was bitter and barely had pigeon peas. She said the best part of her plate was the collards and the yams. I ordered the chicken tender dinner with mac & cheese and fries. No flavor on the chicken, mac was bland. The only thing good was the fries. And why don't they offer honey mustard as a dipping sauce? My husband and I ordered the flavored lemonades that were awesome. My sister ordered a lemon drop martini, which she really enjoyed. But we were all surprised it arrived in a small plastic cup. I just feel that if people want to open restaurants, they need to either be casual, fine dining, or drive thru services. Dinner was on real plates, sides came in cardboard containers, and utensils were plastic. I was so confused! Also, there is no refill on non alcoholic drinks. Surely, I didn't expect that. I will probably not go again or recommend it. This is the 3rd celebrity restaurant I've been disappointed by. I also tried Trick Daddy's Sunday's Eatery, which was all hype but awful. As well as Candy Buress's Old Lady Gang. Besides being there during an employee fight, the food was...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this orlando establishment. We arrived the restaurant was not crowded our waitress Alicia seated my family very quickly ( that’s a plus ) . She asked what would we be drinking today everyone ordered different flavors of the lemonade which was absolutely delicious a MUST TRY . As we placed our order and we start engaging in conversation until out food arrived I noticed a huge ROACH or water bug charging towards me while I was seated waiting for my food. My 8 year old son & my self both jumped up literally feet on the both and ran away from the table. Our waitress heard the commotion and can right away I explain what just happened she apologized and said she will go get her manager ( RALPH ) I sat back down thinking the roach was gone it ran across my legs I freaked tf out !!!! I jumped over the table Ralph came out and we pointed to where the roach ran to he had a broom and paper towel trying to kill the roach. Ralph then stated unfortunately sometimes things like this happens “ and proceeded to walk away I said excuse me a roach just ran across my legs as a manager are you going to accommodate us in some way RALPH STATED I CAN BUY YOU GUYS DESSERT I screamed desert after a roach crawled on me and you had to literally go under a table on your knees to kill it !!! I told Ralph to keep the desert as a manager in customer service I feel like Ralph could’ve handled this situation differently. (If was of a different race I know I would have had a better response) We came to the licking for a experience and our first experience was horrible. I wish I could message DJ KHALID him self to let him know exactly what type of person is running his establishment attached to his NAME.. on a positive note the food was amazing 8/10 My waitress Alicia was very polite 10/10 RALPH 0/10 - I recommend you receive more training Hire a exterminator before l&i shut that place down I should not be running from roaches while I’m trying to eat a...
