If I could give a negative star rating for business practice I would. This restaurant uses false menu pricing tactics to ensure getting a few extra dollars in their pocket, which is illegal. When we received our bill, I couldn’t figure out how I underestimated how much we would owe by such a large dollar margin. So when I questioned this, I was told the menu prices were not up to date. This happened at the end of our meal, after we ordered, after we ate - all because they were “delayed in receiving the updated inserts for their menus.” The restaurant didn’t plan to honor the prices we saw. Just so you have a good idea of why I am unhappy, just one of my discrepancy charges was $4.00 for a topping on my pizza when the toppings were listed as $1.75. I’d like to add we used a Groupon so it was very convenient the prices were not honored to make up for our Groupon we purchased.
We try to support our local businesses each week and after this, we won’t be supporting you for the way you do business. Based on reviews from your other locations, it seems inaccurate pricing is common practice. There is no excuse to using old menus when most restaurants are using paper menus as added precautionary measures for dine in customers. It’s unfortunate because the food and service is...
Read moreI’ve been a customer of Cenci’s Wexford for well over 5 years. I can say that they have served excellent pizza and great service for most of that time.. But recently, their pizza service has been poor. I have received multiple orders where the crust is thin and soggy at the bottom and the toppings are just falling off the pizza when you lift a slice. Another thing is the cuts being clearly rushed. I shouldn’t have to break out my own pizza cutter to finish cuts so I can serve it to my family. Prices have also soared which I can’t blame the restaurant for because I understand the supply chain and economy have been rough.
I’ve attached pictures of my most recent order on 7/27 close to midnight.. this one really disappointed me and I had to leave a review. As soon as I pulled the slice, the cheese and toppings all came off and the crust at the bottom was basically napkin thin and completely soggy. I love thin crust don’t get me wrong, but this isn’t it. I resorted to eating with a fork and knife. It was late at night and I didn’t want to bother calling them to complain as I know they’re usually very busy.. but still.
I hope to see better from them. Maybe it’s just been rough lately.. because they are really capable of...
Read moreUpdate: Went back to Cenci's again this week. My kids loved their dinners, especially the pizza. I had a fish sandwich and it was more like a whale. Good experience!
Went here for lunch on a Groupon. They gave me no trouble whatsoever. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. The place was clean and well maintained. My son ordered and Italian hoagie and it came out nice and hot on good bread. One thing I hate about ordering hoagies is bad bread. Cenci's had very nice (homemade) and toasted hoagie rolls. My other son had a meatball hoagie. Both were pretty large portions and the meatballs were well made. I ordered the shrimp & broccoli pasta in an alfredo sauce. It was good, but it seems they may have used whole milk in the alfredo sauce instead of half and half or even heavy cream. It was good, but I would recommend more of a parmesan/peccorino romano cheese mix. There were five shrimp - very nice size and they were very fresh. The plate was presented quite well. My husband ordered Mediterranean pasta and was pleased with the sauce. It was a nice (light) olive oil based sauce with a bit of cheese. All in all, I did like it, but without a groupon, I don't think...
