I have been going to Roasters before it was Roasters and was Lots of Lox, the food is great and the service has been great up until the re-opening from the pandemic. Last week when I arrived they told us that there would be an hour wait from the time you are seated because they do not have enough help. (Maybe if they paid better wages they would find competent help) I sat and waited for just about an hour to get a bagel platter and on top of that had to walk inside to get my glass refilled with more tea. Ok, I know everyone is trying to adapt to the "new times" after the pandemic, but they charge premium rates for the food and then expect us to be treated with mediocre service. I wouldn't even be writing this negative review, because I grasp some of those difficulties , but yesterday capped it for me and hence this review. I ordered breakfast online, because they where not answering the phone and actually had a recording expressing that. The website does not even carry everything that they offer and has no method of adjusting accordingly, was the first part of the debacle. I arrived and was handed my bag to drive back the 20 minutes that it took me to get there considering I now live in Coconut Grove. To only get home and find the one thing that was needed for the "lox and bagel" breakfast was not in the bag (the lox). Of course there was no way to reach anyone because they are not answering the phone so I had to leave my family (father's day brunch) and drive back from the Grove to Pinecrest to retrieve the lox. I walked in and asked for the manager on duty and this is where the rubber meets the road. She came out and after I told her what happened she began to blame me! I should have checked the bag, they don't have enough staff and they are busy. Are we supposed to check the gas gage when we enter an Uber or that there is an actual pilot on the plane when we buy a plane ticket to travel? If they were offering free bagels, then certainly it would be my responsibility to check that the freebie is what they offer, but when they charge high rent fares for items and know you are driving there to pick something up, then this is their responsibility not the customers. She barked at me and then told someone to slice the lox for before storming off in a huff. Maybe the principles should spend a little more time on location and open up the wallets for premium payroll before more of this happens and the bottom falls out. "Even the smallest of pebbles can redirect the...
Read moreShamefull Service and pancakes, we've been eating here often since they opened although our preference is the Dadeland location. This morning, first time experienced "the worst service and pancakes"! We were seated immediately, without utensils and a dirty sticky table, and we asked a busboy to clean our table, he returned twice an cleaned. Then, the waitress came over with more menus and no utensils but returned minutes later and asked for our order. My wife had to get the utensils. We got our water and coffee, coffee in a not so clean cup. The food arrived, pancakes were stiff hard as if left after they were prepared but left to harden. My wife asked the waitress for butter, hoping to soften the pancakes...she never brought the butter, by then all my wife could eat was a quarter of one of the pancakes; that was the 2-2-2 order at 12.95 . My order was the chalah bread French toast, the center of the toast was untoasted and a bit uncooked but did not want to say anything and just left the third toast uneaten, this priced at 10.85 . I had to call the waitress for our check, and told her the pancakes were too hard and that was the reason we asked her for the butter, emphasizing that she did not bring it and she responded with "you mean no one brought you the butter"...all I said was, you will take care of the bill regarding the pancakes and she said she would. She returned with a new bill, reducing $3.15 for the pancakes and I asked that is all? (Pancakes are 7.95 to 8.95) Obviously, this location has poor management and service to its customer's, ...
Read moreThis place once home Sunday breakfast has now become an icon of disappointment for the last time. The servers hiding in the car walk and not paying attention to a restaurant with 2 tables only. Talking very loud coming from the cat walk and kitchen cooks talking about the only clients in the building after I made a comment about the Challah's Special not having actual Challah bread under the Benedicts special named Challah Benedicts. They tried me by putting Burger Buns as Challah bread under the benedicts. Then I had told the server this and she went quickly and brought me out burnt challah left in the salamander from my order that the kitchen cook forgot to put. All the employees either hungover from the night before or high on something. But be sure I have made a call to Agriculture to expedite the food inspection and to make a thorough investigation of neglect to the quality of the cleaning there too. Went to the bathroom and piece of turf hanging on the side of toilet after an employee left the restroom very quickly to hide the fact they did it. Then I tried to get the manager in her office and waved at me with the notion to wait after waiting 5 minutes i have up and she came out the office by my table without regard to needing her assistants. This location should not be open any longer. My business is now at the Bagel Restaurant not far from there for his reason. So to the owners of this restaurant you should hire new staff if this place is to succeed. Thank you and hope you save this place for I used to like...
