This was mine and my mother's first and last time eating at The Muffin Tin. The waitstaff spent more time chatting in the corner (which was very distracting given where we were seated) than servicing their customers. My mom started with a cup of coffee which she said was so putrid she couldn't drink more than a sip. I was interested in trying the soup and was told I couldn't because it's heated to serve. After mentioning I'd be happy to try it cold I got the same response which led me to believe it was either frozen OR came out of a can. I ended up getting a turkey wrap and the turkey was bone dry. Their only choices for sides (off the lunch menu) were potato chips, coleslaw, and potato salad (not one healthy option). My mom got the coleslaw which she said was inedible, but seemed satisfied with her BLT. I SETTLED for the potato salad (of course could only have a couple bites [again, so unhealthy]) which was OK but tasted too much like store bought potato salad to allow me to think it was made fresh at the restaurant. Worst part is how ridiculously over-priced the restaurant was. Even though we didn't order it a glass of juice is more than $5??? I'm surprised they didn't charge us for the water!! So in the end we paid over $30 (including the tip) for a BLT, mediocre turkey wrap, and a little potato salad. Also the restaurant was so outdated on the inside that I felt like I was in a 1950s diner with zero ambiance or decor. The only good thing I can say is the woman who greeted and checked us out was very pleasant. It was much appreciated given our overall experience. I suppose if there's one takeaway it's that The Muffin Tin is NOT the place for lunch. I sincerely hope future diners don't have a...
Read moreSo rolling down US-1 we were hungry and in the mood for breakfast we checked google and saw this place the reviews looked good so we gave it a try btw I ate there and I’m still hungry and I spent $35 The server was not informative about what was included with the meals so the best they could do was charge us extra for 2 eggs at $2.95 The pancakes were still a little frozen but hunger trumps anything, the Frosted Flakes French toast weren’t up to par I’ve made these at home and way better quality and tastier Overall next time I’m in the area I’ll go to IHOP it’s about the same that I would have spent but at least I know it’s corporate and they have standards they have to keep Lastly this typically doesn’t bother me but the guy that rang me up (I think the owner) was wishing everyone a happy Mother’s Day and ranted that even if a woman doesn’t have a child she is still a mother because she has had to take care of something in her life well I was not wished a happy Mother’s Day like I said I don’t care but it’s the principle I was with my...
Read moreFirst time customer. Thursday, mid-morning. This restaurant had a good vibe for me, and I felt very relaxed and comfortable as soon as I walked in. The restaurant was clean and quiet and relaxed, just the way I like it.
I ordered the eggs Benedict with side of sliced tomatoes (I was also offered potatoes or oatmeal), and orange juice.
The food was great! The Hollandaise was very light and smooth and well flavored. The offer of tomatoes on the side was nice, as the usual side of starch makes the dish too heavy for me. Plus the tomatoes pair well with the Hollandaise.
The orange juice was fresh squeezed, which is great. However, it was also room temperature. That is slightly worrisome as orange juice can spoil if left out for even just a couple of hours, and I didn't think to ask if they make it by the glass as it's ordered or if they squeeze it in bulk to last through the morning. I'll check on that next time.
Overall, it was a very good experience. I...
